I have been doing some research on the Internet about mining laws and such in the U.S. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience and/or input on the subject. This article; wiwi.essortment.com/mininglaw_rlge.htm sparked my interest. It is very interesting and worth a read. I have always been interested in the prospect (pardon the pun!) of my own mine. Nevada Opals keep coming to mind as there are some claims for sale up there, but why not go and stake my own claim for only a couple hundred bucks?

Ha! If you are up Flagstaff way let me know! There should be some good stuff around Meteor Crater, they have bought all of the land around the crater and trespassing is forbidden. But I'm sure there has to be some goodies lying around outside of the perimiter, that was a big blast! Otherwise all of the good rock hunting is down south, too bad I am so sensitive to the heat otherwise I'd be down there more often. Come late May I stay up here at the 7,000 foot mark until fall! Rockds, I am seriously going to start looking into it!
