Went to the doctor today and for the most part had a very good report, red/white blood counts are excellent so I'm ok'd to have another treatment next Tuesday. I told him about the tingling and numbness in my fingers and found out that's not such a good thing. One of the "ingredients" of my chemo does cause this but generally not until you're in the last half of your treatments. So, they'll start off first by reducing the amount they give me but if it gets any worse they'll have to drop it or try something else. The main problem they are worried about is this is affecting the sensory nerves in my fingertips. These are the nerves that tell you what your feeling, like "that's hot, don't touch" or "damn, you just ground the end of your finger off"!! There's absolutely no sign of swelling at all in the lymph nodes in my neck and under my arms. I did find out though, the worst were all the lymph nodes in my abdomen, all of them were really swollen (5 - 8 cm in size) which was why I was having the problems breathing. Today when he had me do the deep breathing, it barely hurt at all so there must be a dramatic decrease in the size of those also. YAY!! ;D I'm amazed the stuff I find out when I'm there and start asking questions. I suppose they don't say much in the beginning because they want you to have a more positive outlook. I guess I'm kind of glad they didn't cause now that I know the chemo is working, it doesn't really bother me knowing the extent of it and that what I have was a very aggressive type of lymphoma. I still say ... No worries here, I'm kickin' booty!! ;D

I'm glad to hear that Cher, remember to visualize the chemo attacking the bad cells and replacing them with healthy ones. This technic does work, visualization therapy is an underated treatment... Stay strong little momma! Marian

I do alot of volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and so, since it's daffodil month, I urge all of you to buy a bunch and help out those like Cher and anyone else. If we can raise enough money maybe we can beat this dreaded illness.

Hey Cher - Glad to hear the good news!! ;D You know...Marian is right..visualisation techniques really do work. I'm reading a book right now called The Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton, a renowned cellular biologist. In the book the author explains that living cells are indeed affected by our thoughts which is proven through scientific method. Lipton's contention is that genetics are not the sole determining factor in cellular function. His theories sort of fly in the face of conventional medical 'philosophies' but they make a lot of sense and are proven through experimentation. Here's an Amazom link. Highly recommend the book. www.amazon.com/gp/product/0975991477/ref=sib_rdr_dp/002-8284868-0351219?%5Fencoding=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&no=283155&st=books&n=283155(you'll have to copy and paste the link) (I became interested in this after losing my father to Pancreatic Cancer last year....) you're still in my thoughts & prayers.... you're going to beat this!!
