Lets hope it don't go 0 for 3. Tomorrow (Fri) at 11:30. Not sure if I'm checking them out more or they are checking me out more. Important details like exact duties, compensation and benefits have not been disclosed yet. I do know the people and it involves types of social science research I would enjoy.
Hoping for the best. I've got to finance my hobbies somehow!
Well there is an offer. It is OK. Will double my income, which is easy to do right now. I wanted a part-time transition of 60 days to finish my dissertation, they might need 120 days. The timing of health coverage ending and starting is something I need to make sure goes smoothly. Should work out.

Everything will end up working out for the best. You'll land exactly where you need to be.
Best wishes for a smooth interview - the others were just for practice!

Well -
My understanding is that I will be getting an offer. It is not as high as the last one I went for, but not as low as I feared. I am not sure how smoothly the research I will be engaged in will go, but it has a nice warm-fuzzy pro-social feel and I should not be bored - maybe just a little frustrated.
I should know late next week if it is going to happen, and then there may be a bit of time to work out how I come on board. Ideally I could have 60-90 days part time so I can keep (overlap) my current fellowship for a few months and manage better continuity/transition of health care plans and other benefits.
If it does not turn out to be my dream job, or if I decide I need to get out of Central PA, I can always go back on the market in a few years.
I swear, as soon as I know for sure, I'm going to get a brand new Lorotone Beaver with a diamond wheel, an expandable drum, and a vertical lap plate. I mean, why work if not to further the obsession with rocks?
