Congratulations, does your food taste better? Mine did when I quit. I quit cigarettes 38 years ago, I was up to 3 packs a day, and only 21. I did smoke cigars and pipe off and on until 3 years ago, haven't smoked since. Terry

WTG Wiz, that's totally cool. You too Terry, keep it up both of you. I quit last July, seven months, two days and counting. Wish my hubby would quit too.

sincere congratualtions, Wiz! i am about 5 and a bit years smoke free (quit date 11/16/2000) after 30 years of multiple packs a day starting when i was 14. it was one of the hardest things i ever did, never thought i'd be able to do it, but so glad that i did it.
i still occasionly do the habitual "reach" for the pack now and then, but those times get less and less.
it's DOABLE, all you smokers still out there, if i can do it, anyone can.

My mom quit cold turkey after smoking for over 40 years. I was so proud. I am so thankful for that ice storm back in ummmm 2003 I think it was. See, she ran out of cigs and decided she certainly wasnt going out in that weather and she's not smoked since. Then she realized how much money she was saving and well, she's had no desire to start back up.
My mom the ovarian cancer survivor and ex-smoker. Needless to say I am a proud daughter.

COngrates!!!! It is a hard thing to give up- (I had the Chew habit for awhile their) and man I still sometimes wake up just craving it!!!!! God I don't drink (sober since 1990) smoke (never really my thing) chew (quit that in 1989) or do drugs (gave those up in college)- heck I don't even drink coffee (but I love my Ice Cappicunio) Now if I could just kick this rock habit.....

congratulations on keeping with your quit. I've been smokeless for a bit over a month. (Spent every darn cent I saved and more on rocks, oh yes, and another tumbler.)
First thing I noticed is my sense of smell came back. Not really sure if that's a good thing though.
