I know all of you Canadians, north-westerners and mid-westerners are tired of seeing it, but in the high country of the southwest we have been getting some long overdue moisture! Here is our property and our beloved hounds enjoying the white stuff. Maybe our fire season will be delayed a little after all!

Yup, that's about how much snow we have on the ground here too ;D. Of course, I don't have the great view you have....
I thought Flagstaff got a fair bit of snow each winter, being so high up? Is your snow season usually over by now? I saw some pics on the news of snow on saguaros in the low desert. That's got to be very unusual in any month!

I'm not sure, but I think that's more snow than I've seen in Washington this year! Enjoy it while it's there. It's great to live in a place where it's a novelty - unlike other parts of the country.

You need a couple more feet there, then maybe you won't have to worry about fires. Nice view though, very nice.

Right Cher, we need more. The snow from the weekend is about 50% melted but there is supposed to be more coming. This is the driest winter on record for our area. The average is in the hundreds of inches of snow per season, this year only 24-40" depending on the elevation.
The Snowbowl just opened, the latest that ski area has ever opened. Shoot, they'll probably be closed again next week.

The view in the last pic is the back of our lot looking out towards the cinders hills near Sunset Crater National Monument. They are small volcanoes that popped 800 years ago, forcing the Anasazis south for awhile. Our property and the surrounding area is littered with "pot shards" from them. We used to pick them up and had some in our house until we were told by Navajo folks that that is bad ju-ju!
