Elk meat is pretty gamey- I had a friend who would hunt just about anything- Then butcher it up and bing it in to work for us to eat- I've had Elk- gamey and strong flavored; Bear- Yuck- tastes like burnt rubber; Moose- kinda strong- and a nasty aftertaste; deer (yummy- but then I always loved venison; Antilope- OMG one of the sweetest tasting meats I have ever tried- and TENDER-- yummmm; Buffalo (he bought it- did not shoot it) pretty good- a bit rich for my taste; and one mystry meat that he swore was rattlesnake- (it was kinda bland and had a weird texture)

Not a hunter here either. The only shots I take are with my digital and regular cameras. I do have friends who hunt, and every now and then will bring me meat which I in turn will make jerky for them, and I get to keep some for myself. I make all kinds of great tasting jerky.
