My father has a courtyard built in the front of his home, and I'm the primary gardener. In an effort to get in the mood for this summer, here's what I did last year:

The following is my cutting garden, featuring the calendula that I grow from seed every year. It's right outside the courtyard.

The blue ball in the fountain was my daughter's idea. I had picked it up for her when I took a trip to the Oregon coast without her one time. It's just a replica of a japanese float. I suppose she wanted it there for decoration. When it's a nice summer evening, we would also float candles in there. Also her idea.
