Same here, I don't like to see things die either (except for thieves and killers) Hey, was there a window above the spot that you found him in? Around here it's common for birds to run into glass windows and die. As for the kitty cannon game, that's one of my favorites. ;D

Couldnt believe it - there was a dead Starling in the garden yesterday. A cat had not had it - it looked too perfect with its feathers intact etc. I couldnt see any shot wounds either. Seek out the Kitty Cannon game - its good fun Biker Cheers Mark (PS I kill nothing and I hate to see things dying - that just about sums it up for me). Randy's probably right on that one if it didn't look like it had any damage. Most of the time, birds that hit a window can fly away but generally die anyway. Are they asking for you to turn them in for testing against disease?

Cat case going to trial
(Bridgeport-AP, May 3, 2006 6:25 AM) _ The case involving a Fairfield cat that's accused of viciously attacking several neighbors is going to trial.
Faced with getting probation on the condition she have Lewis the cat euthanized, Ruth Cisero has opted to got to trial to keep her cat alive.
The case of Lewis, who was ordered confined to Cisero's High Street home after he attacked several women, including an Avon lady, has attracted international attention.
More than 500 "Save Lewis" T-shirts have been sold to raise funds for a defense fund for Cisero.
The judge had agreed to give Cisero special probation on the condition that Lewis be killed. Cisero has said that she would rather leave Fairfield than have her cat killed.
The case is back in court later this month.

They put down dogs that attack, why not cats? I sure wouldn't want to be attacked by no razor sharp claws with God only knows what germs are on them. I don't blame the people for being upset about that cat and wanting it gone. If she'd kept the cat in the house, she wouldn't have this problem now.

You can mostly keep cats out of your yard by placing empty bleach bottles around the yard. Cut the tops off, throw in a couple rocks for weights and camouflage in a shrub. They need to be replaced every now and then as the scent fades. Cats don't like the smell and will avoid the area.

(Bridgeport-WTNH, June 20, 2006 Updated 6:00 PM) _ Bridgeport's so-called ferocious feline has been granted a second chance.
A judge has spared the life of Lewis the Cat.
The infamous cat who terrorized his neighborhood escapes a death sentence. His owner walks out of court relieved.
"Basically the goal was met. He lives, that's it," says Ruth Cisero, cat owner.
And the first thing she'll do when she sees Lewis at home.
"Probably cry to be quite honest."
A judge spared the feline but confined Lewis to his home for the rest of his nine lives.
"We'll do our best to make him happy. I guess ultimately he will be alive," says Cisero.
Lewis has been called the terror of sunset circle after neighbors complained he was attacking them. Photos of bruises left by the cat were submitted as evidence. One victim pushed for the death penalty.
An animal shelter from Utah offered to step in and save the cat. Russ Mead flew in just in case his services were needed.
Russ Mead from Best Friends says,"Lewis lives and that's good. I certainly hope that she's able to keep him inside so he doesn't end up back here again."
The cat's owner wanted to thank all her supporters who came to today's court hearing and every court hearing to support her and to support Lewis her cat.
Marisa Sampieri says,"It was high profile. I wouldn't want to make a bad decision if I was the judge and have him put to sleep." Cisero was given 2 years probation and 50 hours of community service.
"It's fine. I don't mind. I'm sure it's something I'm doing good for someone else," says Cisero.
A lot of people have done a lot of good for her. Her defense fund was paid for in fundraising campaign that sold Save Lewis t-shirts on the internet.
This case has received so much attention. The prosecutor told the court he wished more of his human cases would catch on with the public.
Cisero agreed.
"There is a lot of things in this world that are a lot more important than a house pet. I was lucky that, just my house pet's important to me and I was given what I was and I'm just grateful," says Cisero.
Grateful her pet can stay alive and hopeful life can go back to normal.
Ruth Cisero was granted accelerated rehabilitation. That means if she stays clear of the law her charges will be dismissed and her record erased.
