Hey Everyone, I just finished up revamping my gemkoi website, and my new freeformcabs website. www.gemkoi.comwww.freeformcabs.comI am trying to find out if there any problems, broken links, funky information, or plain outright messdup pages. I have gone over both now sevral times looking for mistakes. But those always come to me best form an outside soruce. I apperaicte all help upfront. And for those who can really find some problems with the sites. will get free rough if they like! I know i still have to finish the link exchange info. BUt outside of that, is there anything else? Thanks again for any input, crituqe, or comments up front. |

Looks like you have been busy. Looks like a good layout.
For some links, if you click the picture, you go to a different place than if you click the linktext under it. FOr ecample, on the main gemkoi page, clicking the picture of the black tube agate in the left hand featured products column brings me to a page to register, when I wanted more info on the agate. However, clicking the text underneath the agate, brings up the detail page on the cab.
Likewise, once on the cab page, clicking the picture in the top right to get an enlarged view, actually brings up the main page again in a new window. Only actually clicking the text underneath brings up the enlarged view. IF you first go th the catalog, then this seems to work correctly, so it must be some sort of default inhereted from the calling page.
IMHO I would make the link "New Catalog for Gemstones" say "New Catalog for Gemstones, Lapidary Slabs and Rough" - I was looking around for the slabs and rougn, and it was not until I went back and reread the text under the gemstone catalog that I understood the slabs and rough were there too.
When you do get an enlarged image, the window has no scroll bars. You can manualluy make the window larger to see more (or all) of the image, but if it does not fit on the screen, you can't see the left hand side.
Just a few qwirks

Clicking the item picture (above the word Measures) brings up a page not found.

Not sure if this is something you just haven't finished yet, but the link to Policy Information Page in the FAQs on Gemkoi sends you to a page with broken images. Perhaps an older version of the site? The link goes to: store.prostores.com/servlet/gemkoi/Page?template=policyOn the Koi information page, the box next to the ad for Barstow Koi cannot be completely seen on my screen. I have my resolution set to 1024 x 768, but I can only see "New update o". The rest appears to be cut off the screen with no bottom scroll bar to view the rest of the page. This just seems a quirky problem. |

One thing I would change is where you have the text in the middle ... don't center it. It looks bad having all those uneven sentences.
