Woo woo! My wife had her second Marriage and Family therapist licensing test this Friday, and SHE PASSED! We're so happy. So she's officially (almost, needs to receive fancy certificate in the mail) a therapist! She's been through 6 years of school, 3000 intern hours, and two massive exams to get here, and she made it! Now she gets to put "MFT" after her name! She doesn't know if she is going to open up a practice or what. It still hasn't sunk in I think. I'm so happy and proud of her. She's an amazing person.
That's the reason I've been absent from the board recently. I have been helping her study and doing more things around the house so she had more time. The machines in the garage have been missing me greatly. Now I can get back into it. I started by making some preforms this weekend!
The weirdest thing happened too this weekend. There was this big round thing in the sky. It was really bright. The sky also turned this weird color blue too. I guess spring is here. Well, sorta, it's raining again.
Anyway, go Jeannine! Woo hoo! Steve

Hey Steve, that's good you were helping her out. Tell Jeannine I said "Congrats" and whatever she does, I hope it's very successful.

I did a LPC program in Texas, some of my classmates were in the MFT track. Everyone was all nervous about getting the internship/supervised hours and trying to find a way not to have to pay for supervision. I understand th elong road your wife (and you) have traveled.
I was leaning towards a research career and the many many internship/supervised hours seemed impractical if I was not going to practice. Although, recently some teaching positions in Oregon did want somebody who was licensed or would pursue licensure in Oregon.
If I ever find myself in a settting where I can get free in-house supervision, I will likely pursue a license just to keep options open.
Congratulations

Impressive. Can I be her first customer on a pro-bono basis over RTH? Something is definately wrong in this family that has oggles and oggles of rocks all over the place.

Total, total congratulations! I have so much respect for people who go through what they go through to get their education! I come from a family that is very pro-education, and of course, hope to pursue more myself in the future. It's not easy under any circumstances, and I always have to applaud those who have gone down that long road.
Great wishes for both of your futures!

Congrats! I'm beginning to think there can never be enough therapists, for all the crazy people lurking about.
