David Gilmour from Pink Floyd was playing in town the last couple of nights, I was going to be working a bunch of poppy jasper caps this evening, but that will have to happen another night.
I know some of you on here are big Floyd Fans- if you get a chance to see this tour you won't be disappointed (you may be shocked at the ticket prices, but it really is an awesome show!)

Just a minor lateral move for the evening for you went from working with awesome rocks to seeing a Rock God. You done did good. I'd love to see him one day.

The Floyd rules! Every once in a great while, I do get to work on some nameless person's wife's jewelery. Pretty cool. Not too often, just once in a blue moon or so. The Floyd's new album is different. Definately worth the wait. A Floyd concert is a major work in progress, worth every penny.

I saw them when Dark Side of The Moon came out and there was a fighter jet flying through the auditorium on wires and crashed into a ball of fire on a movie screen. Ah yes, those were the days!

I'm thinking I don't belong here, you couldn't give me tickets to see them. Now, Huey Lewis & the News, The Guess Who or the Eagles ... I'd take them tickets in a heartbeat. ;D The Guess Who was just playing up here near me, I really wanted to go but didn't dare go.

Hey Cher, those bands are great too, but you got to take into account the fact that I was born and raised in SF and we used to get FREE concerts in Golden Gate Park by all the big name bands of the time. I wish I had saved all the little mini posters they used to hand out at Fillmore West, Winterland, The Avalon Ballroom, and the Fillmore Ballroom. Doc probably played at all those venues. Once a Hippie, always a Hippie! Rock on!

*smile* I never had a chance to even try to be a hippie although I vaguely remember my dad telling me I looked like one ... whatever that meant. ;D Never went to a concert until I was, I think, somewhere in my early twenties and that was to see Marty Robbins.

Yeppir, you probably saw me back then. We even did Whiskey once. Long long time ago, I can still remember, when that music used to make me cry......... I miss those days. Even worse, I do not remember a lot of back then, even when it was the day before. Whaz your name? What did I promise? I did what?! Who the heck are you anyway? What is that rash? Yeah, I was there, I still see the pictures. There is even one with Malcovitch, In the Garden of Eden Honey, Don't you know that I Loooove youhoooo. Of course after a while it came out, Inagaddadavida.. You know the rest. Those were good days. I even remember when Syd Barrett left the Happening, and was never seen again. Weird Harold did the same thing, but that is another '60's story. We all did some lookin through the window pane and saw another world. Went into the desert and got lost. Too much reality. I have Albatros for a brain worm most times.

Just saw Bob Dylan last week. Couldn't understand most of what he sang, he didn't play guitar, only on keyboards, songs sounded completely different than the originals, but his band was incredible. It was not until I read the reviews that I knew most of the songs that he played. But, what the heck, it was BOB DYLAN, and I'm okay with that.

Bob Dylan aka Bob Zimmerman ... My brother went to school with him. Back then they used to have student talent contests and he always entered them. He was literally booed off the stage by his fellow students. That's part of why he doesn't admit to having live in Hibbing, Minnesota. My mother bought his first album when it came out, just cause he was a local kid. My sister and I used to have spook houses in our playhouse to get a few pennies and we'd play his album to scare kids. There was this song ... "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" ... worked pretty good too. Don't know what ever happened to that album, Mom wishes she had it now.

the first concert i ever went to was in 1971, Black Sabbath (and Ozzy was a skinny blonde dude). my biggest regret is that i never saw the Stones or Jefferson Starship. i had tickets for the latter but they canceled the event.
but saw a bunch of great bands, Yes, Jethro Tull, Grateful Dead (multiple times), New Riders (i probably saw Doc), Santana, Johnny (and his brother Edgar) Winters, King Crimson (!), Moody Blues, J. Geils Band, and probably a whole lot more that i can't remeber at the moment (too many brownies).
