Well once I figured it out it wasn't too bad, but its a pain in the butt figuring out the priority thing and trying to set up the pickup. I printed labels from them and ended up having to pay more at the post office cuz I did it wrong.

Give em a call on their 800 number, Cher. I remember having trouble last year when they switched systems. I can only remember that I downloaded what the gal told me and then everything worked fine. Sorry I can't remember what I did to fix it, but it was just a simple fix. They were very nice to work with, they even spoke English!! Good luck, Bill

I did several last week for Priority packages with no problem. I even saved some in PDF file and sent it by email to folks who were sending me a box. (it saved the paypal fee to send postage).
Did you mean today?

No, not today. I haven't gone back for awhile now since they took out the java version. No matter what happens they freeze up my computer. I have contacted them about it, they kept telling me to update my java ... like they have no ears or can't read after I told them it was up to date already. I'd just like to be able to get the free tracking rather than pay for it.

Do you have the lastest Adobe that you can get. Seems like that might have been my problem. Not sure, my memory doesn't seem to improve with age.

I'm not sure if I have the most recent version of that or not. Never needed it before so haven't updated it. I really dislike pdf files, they take forever to load so I avoid them whenever I can.

I hate pdf files too. Seems like the usps uses pdf to bring up the shipping label that you print. I don't know why most government agencies seem to hold onto Adobe. I know it does have some security features, but I don't really care for it just the same. Bill

Yes Cher, I have had problems too. D/L the latest Adobe files and it seemed to help. Still their website leaves a little to be desired, it can be frustrating.
Our PO in town now has an automated shipping kiosk, just put your package on the scale and go through the options on the touch type screeen, a lot quicker than waiting in line.

Last time I tried to get a shipping label was last December when I sent out the last pendant I sold. I finally gave up totally frustrated and bought the delivery confirmation myself. I'll have to give it another try next time I send something out. Thanks for the info, I'll make sure my a-dope is updated too.

Cher - I think this only works for priority and express. I don;t think the USPS site will print labels for 1st class or parcel post. We you trying to get a priority label?

Yes, it was priority w/o postage. I make my own for first class and parcel post. This is how we were taught to do addresses in the business class I took awhile back.
1. Print the entire label in capital letters. 2. Do not use any punctuation.
Here was my experience to prove this works. I shipped a Priority box ($3.85) to Kenosha, WI and a First Class box (.69 cents worth of stamps) to New York. Both left my post office at the same time. The First Class box got to New York before the Priority box got to Kenosha.
You don't have to worry about this if you are buying postage at the post office as they put the bar code on the postage but if you're just using stamps from home, it's makes a difference. Post office machines are set to read addresses with no punctuation, all caps. Cursive writing, different letter sizes and punctuation slow it down. Also it pays to learn their abbreviations. LN for lane, DR for drive, AV for avenue ... etc. You can see right at usps' site when you type in a label, they correct it to all caps with abbreviations although I see now that they put a comma after the city.
