Is that the one about Timothy Treadwell who was eaten by the grizzly's? If so, yes I saw it. It was ok, but he was kind of weird.

Hey Susan - I saw some of the 'making of' the movie. Pretty incredible stuff! Timothy was a true naturalist in every sense. I hope that this movie his death will make people more aware of the plight of the Grizzly and other bears. I read that the Polar bear may become extinct in the next 100 years. Sad...

They've ran that show on the Discovery Channel a few weeks ago, just about everynight for like a week. Check at discovery.com, they are probably still running it once in a while. It's too bad he was always ranting like a raving idiot. He could have done a lot of good but the way he acted will put a lot of people off the true subject which was the plight of the bears.

I only saw 1 "rant" (against the Park Service) in the film - Treadwell was a little off, but in a good way. I've watched the film numerous times, and have become strangely obsessed with it. I love his footage and the musical score is outstanding. I've wanted to move to Alaska for years. S

I've heard of it, but didn't see it - I'm terrified of bears - have some by my mom's place in town
An excellent documentary is "The March of the Penguins" - Those I feel sorry for - bears I have no pity for...

After sitting through the first 30 minutes of Broke Back Mountain (thanks to my wife bringing it home and me know nothing about this movie).....I don't watch too many movies anymore.

It was a pretty good movie...felt sorry for his girlfriend...always amazes me that people can become so one dimensional (kind of like rock tumblers, Hmm?)... In any event it seems he died like he wanted, so good for him...just wish he wasn't so selfish to take his girlfriend down with him, that's not right.

Aw..Sorry Tweet.....but it's been pretty widely publicised..I haven't seen the movie either... I just read more about Tim and the documentory...some think he was Bi-Polar (i think Cher picked up on that) and took unwise risks when filming and interacting with the bears. Some experts believe he did more harm than good by habituating the bears to humans. Apparently he and his girlfriend had setup camp in a very dangerous location and at the wrong time of the year...just prior to hibernation. I read how bears get what they call "Dizzy Head" before they hibernate...makes 'em kind of crazy...especially the older bears. Some even think that he 'committed suicide' by provoking the bear into attacking him...and point to his last statements made on film just before the attack as a 'suicide note' of sorts... I'm just re-telling what I read..don't know if i believe it or not... It's a real shame...the quantifiable end result was 2 people and 2 bears dead.

Heee! Haven't seen either movie (Brokeback or Grizzly) I think I'll see the Grizzly movie before Brokeback.
A buddy of mine was joking that we should have gone to see Brokeback in the theaters together, in ass-less chaps and cowboy hats! (funny because we are both manly men, yeah yeah, no really... what?)

Tweety I'm sorry. It was on TV so long ago I figured everyone had seen it or decided they didn't want to see it. Bears are ok as long as they stay far away from me. I'm not interested in making friends with them.

Brokeback was such a sad movie but it treated the subject matter pretty well, no really explicit sex, just enough contact to make a straight guy uncomfortable...the movie was about feelings and emotions and I must admit I liked it.

Interesting Read: seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/142982_bearattack08.htmlI've got to check the movie out. They don't play the attack recording, do they? I'm ADHD, and a known risk-taker but, camping out in an area that I'm not allowed to be armed in during one of the most aggressive seasons of a Bears year.....NO WAY! I once went camping in the Appalacian Mountains and had to 'Bear Bag' food at night. It was my first experience sleeping anywhere remotely close to bears. I never saw any but, while hiking out of camp, we heard one and that was enough for me! I agree that Treadwell probably didn't help the bears out as much as he may have hurt them but, I'll have to see the movie to get an accurate opinion on that. Tweetiepy - LOL! I loved your comment about the Penguins -vs- Bears. I saw, "March of the Penguins", too. The only thing I regretted about the movie was that our local cable service ON-DEMAND programming advertised it as a film to watch with your children. I found it very sad but, fascinating, too. My daughter was totally traumatized by it! It's amazing what some animals go through to bring new life into this world. bikerrandy - ROFLMBO!!! You're a good man! I would love to see the look on my husbands face if I did that to him! Lucky for him, I'm not interested in the movie.
