I'm with you there, Doc. I don't like the idea of the big oil companies getting involved with food products. High gas prices are a real pain, but when the groceries start going nuts then people will be in real trouble. They can STAY AWAY from my corn flakes!! Bill

thx docone, we'll try that method.
We are probably going to refi the house since we now have alot of equity and I need alot of it for my mouth. And I am going to STRONGLY suggest we get on a waiting list for a Prius. We had a Honda Insight years ago and got over 50 mpg.
BTW regular here is $2.99. Unfortunately, my truck can't take regular so I am now paying around $3.11. I get about 15-18mpg. Feel my pain.

If we converted about 16% of our farmland to hemp agriculture, we could put a serious dent in the use of fossil fuels. Nice thing about hemp is, it IS a weed so it will grow about anywhere.

I and I agree with SandsMan1! Good thing about the Hemp feul is it's the oil they use and they get that from the seeds. Oh wait we don't want seeds, they POP! Of course I can't afford the hemp because I have to spend all my money on GAS! I too buy Chevron because it gives the best mileage and of course the minimum doesn't work as well so 92 octaine it is for $3.15 a gallon. Deisel seems to be the way to go, 50 miles per gallon average is what I am told, plus it's a little cheaper than premium now. With a 50 mile commute I'm glad I only work 4 days a week!

95.9c/liter is the price in Victoria right now. Take a 15minute drive up the Malahat & you can get it for 93.9 in Mill Bay where there is the lowest local gas tax on the south island. Not really worth making a trip to fill up but we do whenevr we're out that way just to get that extra 1.5l in the tank.

The taxes on gasoline are so high in NC that when at all possible everyone around here goes to South Carolina to fill up. That's about a 25 mile drive. I wish I had an excuse to go to Rock Hill or Gaffney but I can't think of one. I feel weird going that far just to buy gas.

Is it really the oil companies, or the taxation that costs? There are some real questions here. I think the question can be answered by looking at the federal deficit compared to Exxon Mobil world record all time corporate profits last qtr. Unless you're an oil company shareholder of significant magnitude- you and me and most of humanity are getting screwed big time by the oil companies- straight up. I won't even get started on how the tax money is being squandered....
