Just got this note from Pete, wanted to share it with you. Please continue keeping Pete and Dru in your prayers. Cher:
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. We came close, very close to losing the fight on Thurs early AM. Dru had troubling breathing and just by the grace of God, I woke up and was able to get her help immediately. They took her back to ICU. On Sun they returned her to a room on the cancer floor. She has been improving ever so slightly sine Mon.
The Drs. are now cautiously optimistic and are hoping for better times. Her kidneys are shot and will not recover so she will have to go on dialysis 3 days every week.
Your prayers and the prayers of the other RTH'ers have made a substantial difference and I am eternally grateful.
This poor lady has gone through a He-l of a lot in the past 6 weeks and she's not out of the woods by a long shot. Please advise Kim & all of the other RTH member of the above and pass on my thanks for their putting in a good word with the "Man". Its what has kept us going.
More later,
Keep um rollin"
Pete

Pete...I gladly offer Dru one of my kidneys if it will help. My liver is about shot so that won't help any. My blood type is A neg. If my kidney is a match she is welcome to it.

Pho that is truly the most generous offer I've ever heard. I don't know when Pete will be back on again, he's pretty much living at the hospital with Dru but I know he'd appreciate it. You have a good soul Pho, a truly good soul.

It always makes me so sad to see a kind, good person suffer so much. Giving up a kidney is such a little thing compared to what Dru and Pete are going through right now. I wish there was more I could do for them...

I would have gladly given my mother a kidney, if she had been a good candidate for surgery, but they turned her down. I have no idea of my blood type, but if there's any way they can try match me, I'd like to know.

Sorry. I have to backpedal on this. I forgot. My father is diabetic and I have to save a kidney for him, as the only other living close relative he has beside me is my sister, who is in no condition for surgery.

Jolene, it's the thought that counts and your's are good thoughts. Hope you father doesn't ever reach the stage of needing your kidney.

My thanks to all of you wonderful RTH'ers. God Bless each and everyone of you.
Dru is not presently a candidate for transplant because of her cancer. But a kinder more generous group of people could not possibly exist anywhere else in God's world. When you say a prayer for Dru be assured that you all are in my prayers as well.
With gratitude and affection,
Keep um' rollin

In another note, Pete said that Dru is seeing more improvement, they've removed her feeding tube and she's allowed to have liquids. Keep up the prayers and good thoughts folks, light some candles, do whatever it is you do when you need a prayer because it sure seems to be helping.
God Bless Pete, give Dru a hug and tell her we're thinking of her.
