The magician, not the book! Hubby rented the "Illusion" DVD of David Copperfield - it's a "greatest hits" from the magician.
We're both flabberghasted at some of these tricks... My B-I-L worked at some show he had in the region and were sworn to secrecy, I know in some tricks he has a body double or something like that - but some just don,t have an explanation. A few years back I downloaded some information on the internet about card tricks - how to "force" someone to pick a card - the card you want them to pick (didn't understand the principle of that) how some tricks are set up before hand (how do you know?)
One particular trick he's locked in a safe inside a building that implodes upon itself and re-appears on a sheet of metal under a blanket (the metal sheet is 1" thick nothing under it as someone has examined it - okay they may be in on it, but regardless, there is nothing under it but air)
His tricks just defy explanation - does anyone understand any of these things? I NEED to know - I don,t like to be in the dark about such things...

Hi Tweet, can't help you with his illusions, they are amazing but glad to see you, was wondering where you'd gone off too.

Oh. I thought this was about him getting mugged and fooling the muggers into thinking he really had nothing on him when really, he had all matter of ID on him, and credit cards and money. Happened in Florida. They easily caught the miscreants who tried to rob him.
This has to go into the Stupid Criminals annals. DON'T try to rob a world renown magician!

I am a magician, I specialize in making beer and sweets disappear. I don't give out trade secrets though.
Ever watch David Blaine; Street Magician? Those are some crazy tricks. I don't know if it is camera tricks or not, I have heard that. If so it is some pretty good camera tricks!

Hubby is obsessed with Chris Angel & he's seen some of Blaine's work too on the internet - still can't believe he went through a window and can levitate people.... how can this be possible?

I don't know what is more amazing- the tricks or the ease at which people are fooled- I saw a Guy (hmm what was his name) in Atlantic City- it was amazing to watch him so readly pick pocket, lift watches, take wallets from one person and plant them on another- And all the while nobody realized what he was doing- I watched him so carefully that I cought about 3 or 4 of his slight of hands (and I tell you this guys was smooth) Then he would convince people that he could id em (pretty easy when you have their wallet) Tweet- if you wnat to know how they do this stuff you need to become a student- learn a few tricks yourself- then you can begin to see how it all works!

I've seen Chris Angels show and up until then I thought that Davis Blaine work was pretty impressive...but Chris Angels stuff is really freaky...his levitation tricks are just plain frightening!! It's not natural to see someone floating in the air 3 or 4 feet off the ground ...of course these could be just TV tricks but the reaction of the street audience indicates that they are seeing the same thing....He's a first class escape artist as well...a little bizarre for my tastes but entertaining...
