Ok I'm not sure if you all know but my daughter has Aspergers Syndrome (a high functioning form of autism). We are lucky compared to most forms of Autism because she is able to communicate and function mostly normal in society. We have friends with family members that are much more low functioning on the spectrum, so we are grateful. My wife has signed up for an Autism Awareness Walk, to help fund much needed research. If anyone could help out with a donation that would be awsome, or you could watch our progress from this link. www.autismwalk.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1280&px=1579604 Thank you all so much for reading! Good luck on the walk, it's a very worthy cause. I'd like to give a little toward the goal, Kat's walking for my 8 year old neice as well. Can I send it via paypal and have you add it to the goal?

Cher, I'm not sure how the pay pal thing works the only time I have used that is on E-Bay where it's all automated. There are directions for sending checks if you like, they say make them payable to "Autism Speaks" and mail them to us(679 State Hwy 507 S. Tenino WA 98589) to turn in on the day of the walk. I would like to thank you for your generosity, your support is enough donations are above and beyond.
Mark, we don't have much money to put in either, any really so participation is our way this year. My wife likes to do the awareness walks, MS, Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes... All of them really, this one just hit's a little closer to home rite now. Not that all of those have not affected our lives and many others. Thank you for any contributions and support!
SandsMan1, yep that's my wife. When she signed up they gave her a web page pre made and ready for action. I think that's such a good idea! This is the first event that has had this option, but it's great for friends and family abroad.
I have some wonderful news, we got a $150 donation from one of our friends with a low functioning son. I thought $2, $5 would be great like Mark says every little bit adds up. My wife came in and woke me up asking if I forwarded her E-Mail to this friend and I said I think so(half asleep my brain doesn't function very well). My wife threw her arms around me and told me of the donation, I'm not sure but I think she may have been crying a little. I just wanted to share that with everyone, we do not expect anyone to do anything like that, I wouldn't even think family would be that generous!
Peace, SSSSpaceman SSSpliff

Wow that's totally awesome. Can Kat upgrade her goal at all to make room for more? When is the walk Jim?

There is still room for more donations, but I will ask her if she is going to change that goal now that it is met. The walk is sometime in June, I willl ask and get back to you.

I went through part of the donating and my browser showed that it wasn't secure when I got to the page for putting in the credit card info ... that's the main reason I was asking about the paypal thing. Also, I did that with the cancer walk, sent $$ via paypal and the gal was able to add it to her donation total. Have Kat check into it ok. Thanks ...

I don't get a pop up window when I click on the sponsor me button. It just goes to the next page, no place to select secure page or anything. That's not right, you shouldn't have to select secure page when giving CC info.

Cher, it's a security setting on your browser. If you go to your tools menu at the top, down to Internet Options, then to the second tab on the top of that window (security).
You're going to want to go to the Custom Level button. Scroll down on that window until you get to Display Mixed Content. This is a ways down the window - under the Miscellaneous category. Yours is probably on Enable. Switch that to Prompt. Then you should get the pop-up window that Sands is talking about.
The site has a security certificate, but because one or two of the images isn't in the secure folder, it's not showing up as secure. Besides the lock down on the bar, you can also tell if the site is secure by the address on the top. If it starts with https://..., it's a secure site.
Let me know if this isn't very clear and I can try to be more specific.
