after a bunch of rain...windy days...and a week long bout with the flu...my son finally flies tommorow...mom is really a nervous wreck now..its only a few hours away...she hardly ever drinks..but said she will in the morning...i have been threatened with..mutilation...and plain old being killed if anything goes wrong...all at the same time.
worst case is that cp barfs in the plane...mom barfs in the car on the way home..from being drunk...and i have to clean up a lot of barf.
best case is...i end up with a kid high on life ..and flying....and a drunk chic.
let you all know how it ended up tomm..with pics.

Once the plane takes off, mumble something about his first parachute jump . . . . . if you want a black eye, that is.

I'm glad that cp is feeling well enough to go on his flight and at the same time I totally sympathize with Mom .... I'd get drunk too. *smile* Send a barf bag along with him just in case.

well if he does barf it won't be the last time he does that. Many people have done that on a flight..so no big deal there. I know of a lady who went up for her first flight and wet her pants. She ended up with a license and now owns three airplanes.!!! CP will have a blast and won't stop talking about this for a very long time.

The only time I almost got sick training was when I did a 180 degree turn into marine layer of clouds where the sea blended together with it making it look like a wall of white. Bad spatial disorientation. For a minute I couldn't tell if I was upside down or what until I looked at my gauges.

well... there was a worse case scenerio...not getting to go at all...seems the paving crew was suppose to start repaving the runway monday...but actually started this morning...they had to whoa'em up when they found this out..originaly they were going to start today...but told them it would be monday...the paving crew must have got finished early with there other job.
a couple of the planes had to get out..they had shows or something..so they couldnt get caught stranded...mr connell was 1 of them...he flew his plane to another airport about 80 miles away to do whatever he had to do...and said he would be back this evening...and park his plane at a local airport a lot closer to us...he said he would call this afternoon when he got back.
cp said he wasnt to disappointed..but you could tell he was...so hopefully he rides in the morning.

I miss flying. I have owned a Schweizer 2-22, 1-19, 1-20. I love soaring. Today, I have to resign myself to designing the ultimate soaring/ultralight/composite aircraft. I have considered cheating and going with the Marske Monarch. I am a pilot from the old days, Turn and Bank, Airspeed Indicator, rudimentary Compass, Yaw String, and sometimes a Tach. I flew an old J2 Cub with a 40hp Franklin engine. Hot and heavy days and it did not like to fly. He will do well. They will finish the paving. I never did much off paved runways, mostly dirt, or grass strips. Tires last longer. Landed in a country club once. The airport fixed the engine and we took off. That was cool. Hit a seagull once. That was messy. The prop shook the AC all the way back to the airport. The old days.
