I went and got Harlie a "ball python". She named it Elvis. She's really excited. These snakes are the most gentle of all snakes that I've ever owned, never once have I ever seen an aggressive move by one so it was an easy choice when I decided to get her a snake as a pet. Now I can quit bringing home wild snakes for her to play with. ;D

Problem with a puppy is that they need daily care. You can't go on vacation without paying for a kennel or finding someone willing to take care of it while you're gone. Snakes of this size eat once a week, by the time he's a year old he will eat once every two weeks. Bigger snakes eat once a month. When you go on vacation, you make sure that they have plenty of water and you just have a friend check on him every two or three days. They don't pee or crap on the carpet, don't make any noise, and will probably never bite anyone no matter how annoyed he gets. I know a guy that raizes tarantulas. I don't like them, they give me the creeps!! ....but I definatley get it. He's educated in spiders just as I'm educated in reptiles. Besides, they make an excellent conversation piece at dinner parties. Hmmmm, wanna come over for dinner darlin? ;D lol

She picked a good name for him since they are also known as Royal Pythons.

Question....does he have teeth, or do pythons squeeze? I'm not up on my snake facts. Your daughter is beautiful!

Cher, how did you know that? Hmmmmm, educating yourself eh? ;D Pythons definatey have teeth, I have scars from a reticulated python that was over ten feet long. Most snakes don't leave scars when they bite but they all have teeth. Oh, and thanks darlin Parfive, were the phoney photo smiles really obvious? I had to threaten to beat up the teddy bear if she didn't smile for the rock picks. That teddy bead was sore as hell before she finally caught on let me tell ya.

Your daughter and your daughter's snake are beautiful, Randy. Love the name ELVIS. I used to have a pair of Rosy Boas. They were really stupid and nowhere near as mean as the Tokay geckos! S

Ball pythons get around 5 feet long. I had a pair of Columbian boas a couple years ago that were 11 feet long. They were very docile but the cage took up way too much room so a friend of mine took them in.

Way cool- Not a huge snake fan- but There is something about the balls that is so sweet- they are really sweet tempermanted snakes- and I have never heard of one attacking- heck we used to have one as a pet store pet and it was hard to get it to eat anything alive! We used to have to knock the mice out and tease him into eating it!!! Nice choice Randy!
