Okay, so everybody knows that you're a Star Trek fan and I'm sure you've seen this before but i'm posting it anyway. I used to have this list on a poster when I was a young man, many years ago. Things I Learned from Star Trek! 1. Seek out new life and new civilizations. 2. Non-interference is the Prime Directive. 3. Keep your phaser set on stun. 4. Humans are highly illogical. 5. There's no such thing as a Vulcan death grip. 6. Live long and prosper. 7. Having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting; it is not logical but it is often true. 8. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations (IDIC). 9. Tribbles hate Klingons (and Klingons hate Tribbles). 10. Enemies are often invisible - like Klingons, they can be cloaked. 11. Don't put all your ranking officers in one shuttle craft. 12. When your logic fails, trust a hunch. 13.Insufficient data does not compute. 14. If it can't be fixed, just ask Scotty. 15. Even in our own world, sometimes we are aliens. 16. When going out into the Universe, remember: "Boldly go where no man has gone before!" And here's one that wasn't on the original list.... **The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one....most of the time **From one Trekker to another.. Happy Birthday...Live long and Prosper!!

Thanks again everyone! The hostility hospitality here is outstanding! Here's the other oldschool Star Trek rule I used to live by when I was a tech: Always tell them it will take at least a day to reconfigure the dilithium crystals when you know it will only take a few hours so when you pull it off, everyone will think you're a miracle maker! ;D Scotty was a wise man (& a good engineer)

Did you know that some of James Doohan's ashes were scheduled to be taken up on a Shuttle and placed in orbit? I think it was delayed though but I mean HOW COOL IS THAT!!!
Coincidentally, he died on the anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, arguably the greatest engineering achievement in human history.
Coincidence? ...I don't believe in 'em (coincidences)

'Damn it Jim...I'm a doctor not a brick layer' ...classic. Ever notice how Ensign Expendable always wore a red uniform shirt. Things that make a great Star Trek Episode: - Somebody gets 'Phased' out of existence... - Spock does a mind meld - Kirk gets his ears surgically altered to look like a Romulan - Any episode with the sexy Green Alien woman!! ;D - Scotty gets drunk on Klingon Alcohol! - Giant carrot shaped doomsday machine - Lt. Uhuru's legs - Nurse Chapel (Majel Barret - Roddenberry's Widow) - Spock plays the harp and 'Jams' with a bunch of whacked out space hippies!! ;D
