OK, we all know what wonders Borax does in working with our rocks. I was doing laundry yesterday, never ending process, and while I was put to soap in I decided to put in some Borax to see if there would be any difference. Wow!! That stuff really works. I can't believe how much softer and how nice the clothes looked. After 3 more loads I am hooked! Borax will now be a regular routine with the laundry!! Take care, Bill

Did you ever think of packaging and marketing the Borax? It might make a miracle cleaner and jewelery flux. I can see it now, Ronald Reagan, wagon, mules, rowdy cowboys, mad indians, helpless settlers. You could be a borax magnate.

That is funny Bill! Also, you know those Workforce saws? Guess what... they also cut tile! I used mine last week to do the kitchen and all of the bathrooms! Back to serious work yesterday with the saw slabbing rock.
I might just try Borax in the laundry too! Hee hee!

Oh come guys, it really works!! Hee hee! Do you think the originators would believe that the box I have now is probably the 4th or 5th box that I have purchased. This is the very first time I have put any in the wash machine! I figured with our water softener we wouldn't need any add ons. I might have to check to see if the softener is working like it should.
Hey I was also thinking that the plastic beads I have might work well for people that make stuffed animals. They could sew little people and stuff them with the pellets and call them Beady Babies!!!
Ya'll take care, Bill

If you have a water softener, you can add 10% chlorine to the salt mix. It hyperactivates the resin in the bottle. It is commonly found with pool additives. It makes a big difference, and does not harm the softener. Salt, is essentially a chloride.

Hey, has anyone considered using Borax as a soap?

Isn't it a soap helper? SO if there isn't any soap to help, would it do anything???

It depends on what was actually said.

So if I load 400 pounds of salt in my softner, I would add 40 pounds of bleech or would I use something like pool chlorine? or could I wait until salt level gets low and add at that time? Once more I am confused!
If it is a soap helper it wouldn't have anything to help if you didn't have soap in the mix too??

Pool chlorine helps. I just throw in a few gallons of 10% every once in a while. It definately makes a difference.

It worked for me. The well people we had building our water processing plant for our home in Punta Gorda told me of that. I tried it, it worked. If your water smells like rotten eggs, remove the magrod from the water heater. Also common fix for that. A little So2 in the water is good for hair.

I removed the mag rod before I even I fired it up on our water heater when I installed it. My wife kind of gave me one of "those" looks, but after her father told her it was the right thing to do I was back in good graces! I guess it does seem a bit strange to tear things apart and remove parts on brand new things before you use them! I'll give a report back after trying the chlorine trick! Thanks, Bill

Isn't that funny, I never think about using if for my laundry or cleaning anything but rocks. I'm going to try it and see how it works! Godd idea offbeat!
