i think sands put something in those beans because i fell sound asleep and missed all this . i have some real mixed feelings on all of this. i saw some excellent insight coming from lizard and terry, saw it as productive, and enjoyed reading their thoughts. i saw some old issues coming up which would indicate to me there is unfinished business. i don't have an answer for any of this but the fighting is causing some fine members to leave or take long vacations. e'dog called public attention to the fact that he was getting smited but he wasn't the only one getting smited. there were others and though they didn't say so i imagine their feelings were hurt. e'dog's comment about not wanting to be called a bully let's me know the groups opinion does matter to him. i sure don't want to try to speak for e'dog because he's perfectly capable of doing that himself. i personally hope tony reconsiders deleting his membership. it's so hard to know sometimes how things are taken in type but i felt like he thought he was being attacked. and in return he attacked. i think xena took a punch to the stomach during all that and she didn't deserve it. again i can't speak for these 2 members, so i hope at some point they will speak for themselves. but i do think they are both valued members and now they are both missing. no xena didn't delete herself, but she has been very silent. anyway i do not have an answer for it. apparently it needs to be discussed. i would like it if it was discussed without name calling and punching. sometimes when emotions are high that is hard to do. your opinions and feelings do matter to me however. if one of you gets hurt, i hurt along with you. and right now we have some members that are hurt. would it be better if that were handled behind the scenes? maybe. but i also think that when that happens the rest of the group doesn't know something got ironed out and therefore it's not a dead issue to them. maybe we need a poll on this issue. kim

OYYY Vey! I just wanted to talk about rocks!!! LOL
Ya'll have a choice here. You can either continue on with the pot stirring or you can LET IT GO! If it's not productive, creative or has no merit...then it's a waste of your precious time!
Here's a thought to live by: A woman goes to the doctor for an annual visit. During the exam, the Dr. asks," Has there ever been any insanity in your family?" and the woman replies, " Yes Dr., my husband thinks he's the boss."
One more thing to help clear the air: Day before 4th, friends had a Texas hold 'em party at their house. Husband went, I stayed home with our dog who was having freakouts cause of the fireworks. It's been warm here & we had a lightning storm that evening. (It was awesome!) So I called husband & asked if anyone had been struck by lightning yet. We talked for a min. & he said he was coming home soon. Fast forward to party yesterday. So our friends asked if I had a hard time during the storm yesterday & I asked, "What the heck are you talking about?" They said as soon as husband hung up from me on during card game, he said he had to go home cause I was "scared to death cause of the lightning." Well, you shoulda heard the people start laughing! First at my husband who thought he had come up with such a brilliant idea to get out of the card game, then at the people who actually fell for his line! I said to our friends, " Yeah...I was scared allright! That's why I was standing on the front deck with a long metal rod while I was asking my husband on the phone if anyone had gotten hit yet!" One of my girlfirends said, "Lizzy...of all the women in the world, you'd be the last one to play the damsel in distress!" Husband is never gonna hear the end of that one!

Well, I missed this go around or I'm sure I would have added my 2 cents - and might have been kinda nasty to whoever was being ugly to Herm!
One of the main reasons I left the board and only visit rarely is because of Cher's numerous requests to lock threads when someone said something she didn't like. And it seems everytime I have come back over, I read a thread that is interesting and somewhere in all the posts is Cher callling for it to be locked down.
If the thread was on the main board, it needed to be moved over here, but not locked.
I really like Cher, but can't and won't tolerate people who want everything that upsets or offends them calling for threads to be locked down. Guess I have been at LF too long, where things REALLY get down and dirty.
I always end up over here because I haven't been doing anything with my rocks lately, so don't have anything to contribute there. Besides, there's some neat stuff on this board.

Llana, I'm so sorry you feel that way, I have a problem with caring more for people's feelings than if things are politically correct.
Please don't blame me for you leaving the board I'd don't recall "numerous" threads that I asked to be locked other than the overly political one and this one ... that's two. And again, I will explain that it's only because I hate seeing people's feelings hurt.
*sigh* I won't hurry back to this section again so go ahead and tear each other a new .... I won't be giving a rats a$$ anymore. I'm tired of people accusing me of shit when they know nothing about me.

I have no idea what happened in the carnival atmosphere around here. I must have missed it while cutting up my china plates. Maybe that was a good thing! It is much easier to agree to disagree and let it go. I am here to learn and have some fun along the way. I use to work for a law enforcement agency for over 26yrs. I realized I wasn't growing and I was just so tired of figuring out peoples problems that they brought upon themselves and than I had to get involoved. By the time I was done with my day, either I didn't have any problems of my own, or I just didn't care. So you see, life is too short! No time for fightng among friends who are here to share and learn from each other. Okay, time for a group hug! Everyone join around in the circle. We are going to sing CUMBYYA and you are going to like it! LOL! Ready...i...2...3...okay!

Okay, I agree with Kim! I'm very good at problem solving and being the girl in the middle of a situation. I am not sure what this is all about, or what really happened. It really isn't important. I would love to see everyone back here for their input! Whoever you are please come back and jump back into the converation! I would love to hear from you all! As I really don't care what happened. It just isn't important. I wanna see your rock pics! LOL!!! Got Rocks?

I hate politics & diplomacy but sooner or later they poke their ugly heads into all forums and cause trouble. Nowadays, I subscribe to George Carlin's guide to "just f'ing dealing with it." I also share his views on censorship. If you see/read/download anything offensive on the internet at any time you can hit the delete key or the back key or close the window or just turn the friggin thing off and deal with it. I never go LOOKING for a fight but eventually somebody always says something that pisses someone else off and it escalates from there and others get caught up in it too. Aside from the odd clash or criticism I think we are still lucky to have a reasonably stable environment on RTH.

LOL Randy - Looks like the dog has been into the moonshine again!!! Party Animal!!
LLangago - I think Cher was just trying to break up the fight. She genuinely cares for EVERYONE here and was only trying to help keep the peace. I'm against censorship just like every other red blooded American but when things degenerate into just so much name calling and fighting it's only natural for an empathetic person to want to break it up. Blaming Cher for your actions is inappropriate.....
Besides...Hermy and E-dog are on good terms again. Both have apologized for any misunderstandings and ALL is forgiven...It will take some time for things to return to some form of normalcy but if we keep stirring up the shit it will just get worse....
I think we should stop kicking this dead horse...and enjoy each others company!! There are soooo many cool people here and yes they have differences but I think we can all live with those differences if we just give a little effort....
Peace, Dan

Yep, both Herm and E-dog agreed that it was a complete mis-understanding. Also, I for one will always back-up Cher, she's a sweetheart.
