I've been thinking about this lately. I prefer never to have my real name mentioned online but I see many people don't care one way or t'other. How do you all feel?

You talkin about first names? Doesn't bother me any, that's why it's part of my board name. I've even used your name a couple times, I figured you were ok with it, and I like your name.

lol Randy. Since you always add "darlin" after it, I'm usually so flattered I barely notice. I just noticed some people are giving out their real names because they wished they'd picked better online names, etc. But I like Hermatite...or Hermy...or Herm(add clever ending here) and prefer it to the real thing.

I use my real name as my screen name so I don't confuse myself! If others sign off with or use their real name in public posts then I use that. If they don't reveal their name then I never will. I don't care what you call yourself as long as you're here! I'm a Hermaholic!

I'm a combination.
I like my username, and I've used it for many years. (Call it my alter ego.)
But if I have a personal transaction or PM conversation with someone, I sign off with my real name and I don't really care if they use my real name in other public conversations. It's kind of like they've "met" me then...

I chose my real name or at least a shortened version of it even though I signed up as rosebud. Rosebud was my cb handle for many years so I use it alot as a username.

I will likely add "Daniel" after my deb193, but I want to log in as deb193 because that is how I log in most places. Helps the memory.

Greetings All, I don't know why but I just put William C as my onscreen name, I guess since this is a public forum. On my PM I sign as Clif, the C part of William C what I go by in the real world. What's worse is I'm lazy and haven't established my own email since we switched over to high-speed internet, so I use my wifes email account and we don't have the same last name. That's ok, I still know who I am (usually) William C

I'm in the same boat as akansan. I'll always sign off w/ my handle, but PM's will usually be w/ my real name after a PM or two....My mother alwayst told me to not kiss on the first date, so I don't give out my real name on my first PM......LOL.
I don't really care that people refer to my real name though.
Gaetz, Gaeter, Gaeteroooo, G-man, Gaetzy or just plain ol' Tim (ouch, my real name is so boring!!!!! You can't jazz up Tim too much)

It's the tim-man...timmerama....timmmeroooonie...timaliscious...tim timinee tim timinee tim tim terrooo (okay that was a blatant ripoff of a song from Mary Poppins...but hey...I'm trying!).

I signed up with a handle I use a lot. Then the more I used my first name in posts I decided to add it to my handle. I don't like too many things to remember, I think my brain must be getting full cause I forget things all the time. I think you should use what ever you feel most comfortable using. I sure can't see any harm in using your first name. Take care, Bill

I use Terry664 because I use it everywhere, and Terry is my middle name, but what I have been called since I was 3. But I don't care what you call me. Terry

"her name was McGill, but she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy..."
i like my username even though i sign off as KD. i've never liked my given name in any form (and tortured my mother about it for years) and i've had other nics throughout my life. i can even tell when and how people know me from by what they call me.....haha.

People have called me Lizard or Mom for over 13 years so I'm pretty used to it. Heck...I guess it is my real name!
