Anyone else who might know what this is. My grandson say's it looks like it came from Star Wars. ;D Looks to me like it's in the grasshopper family but .... Thanks for looking, appreciate any info. Cher

It's a grasshopper. They are around here alot in the spring. Looks like he's got his jumpin legs stretched out. Must be liken the sunshine there. Tonja

It looks similar but unlike any grasshopper I've ever seen. Maybe a search is in order to find out what kind of grasshopper it is. Thanks.

To be accurate. It's a katydid which is in the order Orthoptera but in it's own subfamily within the grasshopper group. *L* Sorry I just can't help myself. Been a scientist for too darn long...mel

Thanks Mel, I couldn't find anything in the "grasshoppers" that looked like this and I was getting tired of looking at them. ;D

I could not find a picture of a brown katydid, only green ones.
