Right now in SE Wisconsin, it is 93 degrees, with a "real feel" of 97 degrees F. They have forecasted it to hit the upper 90's with a "real feel" of 95-110 degrees F. The humidity is making it feel real yucky! Gills, anyone? And no matter what they say, "dry heat" is a lot easier to tolerate than humid heat (I am a former S. Californian that has also lived in Colorado)!! Stay cool!!!!!!!!!!

99* across Lake Michigan in Traverse City Mi. from you! And you are right about the humidity, I would take the 100* plus temps I have camped and such in out in the southwest US over the 80* temps here when the humidity gets so high. When I got up this morning it was already 90* and the humidity was 79%. The dew point must have been high because there was still dew on the ground even though it had hit 90*!! Hard to believe that in less than 6 month's there will be snow on the ground!
Did anyone see a week or so ago they said that every state in the lower 48 had 90+ temps on that day? I don't know if that was a record, but rather odd for sure! Bill
UPDATE- Weather channel just stated we busted 100* and the heat index is 106*!! Yuck!!

I agree, dry heat is really no big deal. Espcailly when most people have air conditioned garages, so allot never feel the heat. I myself only use a AC in my bedroom at night to sleep in the hot summers here in Arizona. The rest to me is extremely tolerable even when its humid. I think its only pushing 91 today, with about 40% humidity. With hugh sky islands everywere that helps with shade and cool breezes.
The only downside to the weather is during Monsoons. As more often its just gets humid, with little or no rain. And bad wind storms. So power gets knocked around allot. Its nice to still have moving air from a fan no dout.
The storm we had the other night i was like a disco. Even Nasa reported this storm was very odd. As it produce extreme lighting, consantly for over an hour. I mean, you walk outside and could look in any driection and the sky was on fire. EVen gaint strikes they reported went over 50miles! as i would see the main storm striking in NOrth Pheonix, but on the Back side of Suppersistions, which is roughly 30miles away from this storm. YOu would see the lighting streching from that north area and landing over behind the suppers. Talk abuot wild storm, and though we got some bad rain, it was limited to a couple areas.

We hit 97° with a heat index of 110° but thankfully ... even though it's not raining the storm going by has pretty strong winds and it's cooled off to 83° in a very short time. Still way too freakin' muggy though.

It was 137 in front of the fire station where my husband works this afternoon (they stuck a thermometer on the pavement). My car said it was 104 in town by the bay at 4:00PM. Officially, though, it was ONLY 100, like Offbeat-Bill said.
Stay cool,
CQ

Wow! Almost 930pm and still showing 90* feels like 96* out there!! I think the bearings in my electric meter on the side of the house are going to wear out. With the air condo running that little bugger is spinning like crazy!!! We're going to pay for these cool breezes!!! Bill

We have had some good rains in Northern Arizona due to the Monsoons, but like Shain said, there are also alot of rain teasers where it just clouds up, gets humid, then nothing!
We had rain last week that washed out our road and lightning hit our neighbor's house!

It's too hot. Dry heat, it's like when you open the oven door.

It was 105 here in Odessa, Texas today but bad thunderstoms moved in this evening, dropping temps about 15 degrees. We are receiving some BADLEY needed rain.

Hahahaha (shame on me ). It was 70 F here today, after an overnight low of 50 last night. More of the same forecast for the rest of the week. I wore shorts today, but saw numerous people out and about wearing long pants and light jackets. (This is sweet relief, it's been freakishly hot here also, even hitting 98F last week -- warmest day in 69 years. We have no air conditioning in this northern clime, so with the main floor of the house rising to 92 F last week, it was sleep in the basement time last week. So nice to have it cool off -- we pay for it in the winter though

We have been in the 90's for over a month, with very little rain. Everything is still green though, because we get heavy dew at night. Today the temp will excede the 100 mark by quite a bit and they have high heat warnings out for us. I love warm, but I hate humidity! I want to move to AZ where the humidity is very low... I could take the high temps. Harry

I just looked at the forecast. Today and tomorrow is supposed to to be close to 100 F if not a 100, but low 80's on Thursday, can't wait. However, yesterday they were saying tomorrow would cool down but now they have changed their minds.

Same forecast for today and tomorrow, hot & humid, heat index of 95-110. I remember many summer visits to Lake Havasu, AZ when I was a kid where it was always triple digits during the day (in the shade, too). Hot is hot, but hot & humid makes it hard to breathe, even when you don't have any breathing problems. And talk about sweating! For some reason, a lot of Wisconsinites seem to want to move down to the deep south where it's warm. I do't get it. I could never handle living in FL or MS or AL in the summer with their humidity! As Earthdog says, thank God for the person who invented A/C! And yes, I am not looking forward to my electric bill for this month, either. We have central air AND a window A/C unit in our bedroom (old 2 story house, central air doesn't get upstairs very good)! I know the electric company is loving this weather! Our local news channel went out with a digital thermometer and checked temps. on children's playground equip. One of the slides registered at 148 degrees! I remember that from when I was a child in Calif. Also, inside of cars were like rolling ovens! I pulled out my windshield shade this weekend to use in the car. I know that's all pretty normal out in the other parts of the country, but you tend to forget about it up her in the midwest states! My mom is in Southern Alaska right now, enjoying the same temps. as Don in Canada! It's hard to believe in 6 months we will be complaining of how cold it is!
