I "saved" a kitty a long time ago. After deciding I wanted a cat, I went to the local pet store. I saw 2 kittens in a cage. I asked the owner to bring out the short-haired black kitten to take a look at. There was a long-haired kitten that was curled up sleeping next to the short-haired kitten. She looked very sad and cried when the short-haired was taken out of the cage. I asked about the long-haired kitten and the pet store owner said, "oh, she's sick, I don't expect her to make it". I couldn't believe they even had her out for display, let alone exposing the other animals to whatever she might have. I decided to buy both of the kittens and brought them home. I named the long-haired kitten Gizmo (I had just seen the movie Gremlins, and she had huge ears just like Gizmo in the movie). The other cat had no problem jumping up on the furniture, climbing up the curtains, etc. Gizmo just laid on the floor and wouldn't eat. After a couple of days, she was taken to the vet. The vet said she has a parasite and she was dehydrated. He gave her some medicine, gave her some fluids via a shot, and within a day, she was acting like a normal kitten! I ended up having her for about 18 years! I had to put her down almost 5 years ago. Though she wasn't the best mouser in the world, or wasn't the prettiest cat in the world, she loved us and we loved her. Oh, yeah...her tail was only about 3/4's the length and was bent about 2-3 inches down! When you save an animal, they know it and dedicate their lives to you and your family! It's too funny how cats love boxes, no matter the size! ;D
