well it seems the results of the biopsy are kinda bad news...not 100 percent bad...but bad enough doc said.
results came back as something called....erythroplakia dysplasia...i asked him to write it down for me... i hope i spelled it right.
i havent had much time to research it...figured i would do that tommorow...im going to play poker tonight and not worry about it untill tommorow...i have people backing me tonight in a couple of real money tournaments ;D ;D ;D.
but he basicly told me that the chances of me developing cancer are pretty high by looking at the results of the biopsy...he said he will set up a day and call me...that he needs to remove the rest of it.
he said if i keep smoking chances are slim to none of preventing the cancer...and if i do everything just right...i have about a 40 percent chance of it not developing...odds are against us he said plainly.
not sure why he didnt say we may prevent it...instead of giving me bad percentages...ya maybe i do.
he said when or if we find it has turned to cancer for sure...that we will fight that dog when we come to it.
i asked him point blank if this was going to kill me....he said chances are no...but if the cancer develops...that there may be major changes from any surgery that may have to be done....but not to worry about that right now.
i just started asking a slew of questions and he told me he would answer them when he set up everything to get the rest of it out of my throat.
damn...im rambling again....basicly in a nutshell.
doc has to cut the rest of spot out...says i will go on certain meds for awhile...i havent smoked since i talked to him...when it turns to surenuff cancer we will fight that battle then...chances are it will according to him....but if we are lucky it wont...thanks for listening....kevin.

Wow Kevin, that's a darn good reason not to smoke for sure. What ever the case may be, just remember you are ready to kick a$$ and get it out of your system. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Do all the research you can on the matter. The more you know about this the better. If you go in knowing what is going on and all the odds the better it will be for you. Ask questions and demand answers! Do not accept the old standard "I don't know" as an answer...
If the doc don't know tell him to find out....hell man..this is YOUR body not his.
Hang tough....and know we are here for you whenever you need us.
If there is anything we can do...just let us know.

Kevin...there's good news in your diagnosis! You do not have cancer. There are steps that you can choose to take to help prevent these lesions from turning cancerous. That's great news! Look on the American Cancer Society website for the article regarding your diagnosis. It seemed pretty good. Will continue to keep you in my prayers for the strength for a lifestyle change and for you to start to feel better real soon. We are all with you!

Wow. Even if he said it's not cancer, it's still a kicker isn't it? I'm glad you still have an opportunity to make healthier choices. Good for you for quitting smoking - it's a damn tough thing to do. It's good you went in when you did and didn't wait. You're on the right track now. It's good you have a straight talking doc. You have my support. Good luck on the quitting smoking - I'll be cheering for ya!

well i think it was good news man he said you got a chance of it not ever turnin to cancer no matter what percent he puts on it thats great now i know it aint gonna be easy cause i still havent done it but put the smokes away and start eatin right ive read diet has alot to do with helping not get cancer ive read a few times that theres something in tomatoes that helps alot start eatin them and drinkin tomatoe juice i love them so i dont have a prob with eatin them i can eat them like an apple with a shake of salt and pepper haha --- if i was you id be smillin and readin on everything that can help it not turn to cancer --- you got a good shot man use it wisely and maybe in a year or so he will be saying it all looks good so DOITUP

cpdad, unless I'm missing something, I think those results are much more positive than negative. You don't have cancer, but have a lesion that has a good chance of becoming cancerous if not treated. So get it cut out, and then it's gone and isn't around anymore to make the jump from pre-cancerous to cancerous. A healthier lifestyle may prevent other pre-cancerous lesions from developing, but for the here and now, you want this lesion cut out, and then that should be the end of the issue for that particular pre-cancerous group of cells.
Good wishes on the lead detoxification, those sound like some nasty symptoms.

hey everybody...not sure why i didnt turn around the docs words....i reckon yaw are right...it isnt cancer yet is it...i reckon my mind just focused on (it will probably be cancer).
im sure going to focus on that it isnt yet....sands my wife just brought me home 1 of those juicer machines...gonna give it a shot...wonder if alcohol goes good with fresh fruit and veggies..hahahahahahahahaha.

hey kim...everything is nothing but positive now...i aint gonna get no cancer...im gonna eat my veggies...also a bunch of tomaters...maybe some cucumber juice...i like cucumbers...and cantoloupes...watermelons to.
cher..nope i aint smoked the first cigarette since yesterday...its killing me...but i havent...my wife even took all of the ashtrays out of the house...she smokes but only 3 or 4 a day...if she is smoking..its not at home.
yep doc said no drinking...but he told me that when he thought i had gout...said beer was a cause of gout...i reckon i may still have gout...not sure i reckon...lot of changes in the last few days.
but some whacked up lemons and limes...tequila(in the machine)...maybe i better lay off untill later huh.

i have one of the juicers and i was reading the book and it said only juice what you can drink because even in the fridge after acouple hrs it loses the vitamins --so juice as you go you will get more from them --and look around im sure theres a list somewere that has all the stuff they say will help fight cancer and illness of all kinds and hang it on the fridge so you keep seein it
and find a nice red wine that you like and have a glass every day or two it helps build the blood i aint sayin drink the whole bottle just a glass and start useing olive oil i seen something somewere that said there was a low amount of cancer in italy so im fig its got alot to do with wine , garlic ,tomatoes.and olive oil think about it thats in allmost three meals a day over there
