In just bought a Bounty Hunter, Gold Digger, off ebay for 46 bucks. Are they any good? What is, Automatic tuning & ground balance ? And, what does Treasure meter to determine strength of signal mean?

it's probably not too bad of a deal. I have a Tesoro and I have to ground balnce it myself...a real pain in the butt, especially if your detecting an area with high mineralization such as mining camps. Once you get the hang of it, it doesn't take long to ground balance it fairly easy. I'd contact the manufacturer and ask if there's a manual available for your model. Have fun...I take mine evrywhere I go. It straps easy enough on my backpack and it's light enough that it doesn't get left at home too often. I've found several old dump sites by detecting the old tin cans, and most of the time there will be a few bottles as well. Steve

Most modern metal detectors will automatically tune and ground balance themselves. That just means it will automatically tune out the natural ground minerals to cut down on false positives. The Bounty Hunters have a pretty good rep. The Gold Digger, I think, is their specialized "nugget shooter" designed to find gold nuggets and placer gold, but they can also be used for coin and relic hunting.
