I have a wonderful lilac bush that I love (it's purple!) and will have to stay here when we move (darn!) and i's August 20 right now and I still have blooms on it? Normally this thing blooms in early spring and then nothing till next spring. I'm thinking it's keeping it's flowers until we move as an homage to us - as a thank you of sorts - just really weird I've never seen flowers past June...

Tweetie, my moms did that once in awhile. There would be blossoms till almost Nov. We were in Texas so that might have had something to do with it. I like the idea that its paying homage to you Is there anyway you can get a starter from it to plant at your new place? I don't know much about them but seems like it might be possible. Good luck and take pics so you will always remember

you can take cuttings and root them to take with you to your new home. I have some I need to plant that started growing roots in the water that is in the bottle holding the bouqet. Just cut some flowers and keep hte stems in water until you see roots. I have started several plants using rootone to dip the stems in and then planted in moist soil. Do a search on flower gardening sites and get tips on how to do it. Enjoy your new home Debbie
