The first couple of photos (light colored area) looks like the skin of a dinosaur! Just think, 500 hundred years from now our great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren will go rock hunting/mining and find that stuff!

Joe took them. He got some great stuff. I'll post some more soon. OK what this is: they obviously are all wet, they are hot springs. The stuff that looks like the dinosaur skin or something is the rock deposited by the springwater. Same process as cave formations. The colors come from bacteria that can grow in the different temperatures of water, which of course is cooling off as it moves away from the spring. That's why the rainbow look. It would be slimy but solid underneath if you touched it, which you aren't supposed to do. The last picture is a small geyser, or perpetual spouter is probably more accurate.
