This is a young female Purple Finch. Not sure why it's bahaving so strangly but my hubby enjoyed him for awhile. Apparently he hasn't learned to clean his face off after eating. This is from my neighbors garden, it's called Lavaterra. This is my windmill, the plant is a red morningglory. Here's a close up.

ya that is a very cool birdie great pic...didnt know morning glory came in red......i just thought it was white and a weed....funny timing on the thread....had 1 of the younger guys at our shop totally screw up a part today.
i have a habit of going out and picking vines and making a wreath for the dead part....and laying it in the middle of the shop floor with there name on it....just as a reminder not to do it again...dont laugh it usually works.
but the vines i pulled this morning...were actually white and purple morning glories...never seen that before either....boss lady was actually out there pulling vines up for her house...go figure.

We have the wild white morning glories up here but of the tame variety, all I ever saw was blue. My neighbor bought me these and the little tag that came with them showed a red one of the same trumpet like shape. Nothing like these frilly little things that are blooming for me now, I'm really enjoying them. They'll be gone in the next week though, unless hubby remembers to cover them.
