Beautiful bird! Thanks for the pics. Shame about the fire.
I was at the Valle Airshow (near the Grand Canyon) a couple of years ago. There were a lot of birds that you could take a ride in (likewise for a lot of dough!) and when the B-25 landed I talked to the guy who was in the nose gun (see the third picture) and all he could say was, "Oh man! OH MAN!" his legs were wobbly and he couldn't get the grin off of his face!
I thought it might be the same B-25 in your pics but I remember the nose art to be different, the one in Valle was "Haulin' Ass" with a donkey kicking a bomb painted on the nose. (I love WWII nose art too and have a ton of pics that I have taken from various air shows)
Thanks again dtcmor

Yeah guys, The nose would definitely be the place to fly. With all that glass, I would think it would make you feel as if you were free floating in the air. Would like to have a crack with that big 50 cal. too. Bet you could do some demolition in a hurry !! From what I understand, there are about 4 different noses they could interchange on the front - anything from 8 machine guns up to a small cannon. Would have hated to be on the receiving end!!

Awesome pics! My wifes grandfather was a photographer on a B-25 during WWII, he took some CRAZY photos. I can't even imagine how those guys dealt with the stress and fear they had!! I have nothing but respect for them! - Eric

That is the airplane that Jimmie Doolittle's squadron bombed Tokyo with early in the war.
