Hello peeps
Can anyone give me an idea of where to start, or how to go about making a gem tree?
I've studied pictures of them and have a general idea but I'm sure there is a right way to do it !
I've searched online but cant find any instructions for them.
My lastest load is ready to go into polish, its soft stone and boy are they soft ! - I've ended up with loads on tiny little bits and pieces and not that much big stuff, I cant believe how much they have ground down - I think I let them go for too long - so I was going to try and make a tree.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Rose,
Not sure how this will really help, but was over at a friends place on wed night and she does gem trees, and she leant me her book about making them, as it is something I want to try, it is a really good book, and it shows all the steps one by one etc. It is called Jewel Tree making Course, (A lortone lapidary craft course)
I photo copied it for myself so that I would have a copy. IF you can't find it someplace I could probally make you a copy too.

I'm not sure, but I'm almost positive that I saw a thread on this very forum regarding this - someone showed progress pictures, it's in the earlier posts maybe.

i tried to find my own post and couldn't! so here is my attempt, the first pic was "in process" and this was the finished product. the stones were predrilled and it took a lot more of them and a lot more wire and time than i had anticipated. i used a photo in a catalog as a guideline. hope this helps.
