I'm sorry if this is a repeat post but I've searched through the last 6 or 7 pages & I can't find the post regarding this.
How much grit do you use? 3# the manual says 4 tablespoons of grit (coarse at least) and water to just under the top layer of stones. I remember reading that this was too much and to reduce the amount
If someone can find the post that's good too, since I can't find it and "grit" is not a very good search word. Or you can just let me know here

I've used the 4 tablespoon of coarse for my 3#er and it seems about right...I sometimes have to run coarse for an extra week with a recharge...I tumble hard agate which need a good shaping; I suspect cut rocks or natuarlly smoothed rocks would require less than those prepared with a hammer and chisel
