I have been considering one of these two saws. They are both 8" and will be bought "complete" with motor, vise, and plastic cover. From those of you in the know, which of these is the better saw? Anything I should be aware of on either one? Pros - Cons ?? Lortone TS8 Trim Saw Lortone FS8-C Trim Saw Hate to get one, and find out later should have got the other. Appreciate any info on these that anyone might have. -thanks! Jimmy

just my opinion but i have a ts-8 and it works great i got it used and its still a work horse i have no complaints the only thing i can see that makes them dif is the newer model the fs-8 is way easeyer to cleanout it has a lift out oil tray and you dont need to mount it to a board the motor sits right on the back ---but the ts-8 i have to unscrew it from the board and take it and dump it out,, if theres a big dif in price and i had to buy eather one id get the cheapest one because the ts-8 is a simple design not much can go wrong with it but bearings and i like the fact the motor dont hang from the saw frame no pressure on the saw,, im sure they both do the same job its a matter of what you want to spend and how much you mind alittle effort to change coolents---i can have the coolent changed in about 20 mins or so but im sure the fs-8 is alot faster it all comes down to your preference and how much luxury you want im sure there both great saws,, i have all lortone machines when my new saw gets here ill have three lortone saws and two lortone grinders and three lortone tumblers and i have to say i have not had a prob with any except normal wear and tear i like there machines---hope this helps

I have the FS-8 and like it a lot. I was my understanding that the biggest difference was the FS-8 was designed to be more portable than the TS-8.
Which is why the FS-8 has an easier to clean pull-out coolant tank.
Both saws will do a fine job. I would go for whatever one cost less. That way you have more money to spend on rocks to cut. ;D

the pull out coolant tank is worth any extra bucks. i have the FS-6 and wish i'd got the 8..
anyway, it's amazing how often you need to change out the slurry/coolant and i know i'd leave it a lot longer if it wasn't so easy to change. i use water so i often have to top things out before i start a new cutting session. so the FS model makes it easy to check, too.
my 2 cents.
