I know there are a lot of Musicians out there (we have some real cool Gutiar players) but I'm wondering if anyone plays the Pan Flute- We were at and Arts and crafts show a few weeks back and ther was a small group (Mystic Warriors) preforming. One of the guys was playing the Pan Flute (actually Several of them) and My daughter Fell in love!!!! She currently Plays the French Horn (and is Extremly talanted at that) and want to play Pan Flute- I have found this guy in Hawaii that seems to have some nice handmade flutes- is pretty reasonable priced- and has been very helpful in our e-mails back and forth. But I want some other opions on these instruments- So anyone out there Play- or know anyone who does??

sounds interesting, but ive never heard one. At least that i know of. Theres a local guy here in AJ, [Sagio]. And plays allott of Native American Flutes, very cool sounds no dout. IF you got a link please post it. BUt to me, music is something everyone should try, and the more one can play different instruments, the better.

I can't help you, but I just bought one. It has two rows. One row smaller than the other. I'm still messing around with it, and I can tell you, it takes a good set of lungs to play it. I actually got it at a flea market in Rome this summer from a seller from Peru. He had all kinds of instruments and was playing Inca music. Cost me eleven Euros.

Hey Stefan, I don't play but I bet if you contacted your local symphony they'd know someone. UPDATE!!! Your area appears to be a hotbed of pan pipes! I googled Buffalo NY pan pipes and got tons of links including what appears to be an annual concert. Very cool.

Hey Rich, give us a report on the Ian Anderson show. When I was around 25 years old, I was jamming with a 14 year old kid who would sit down and play along with the entire Thick as a Brick album note for note. I often wonder what ever became of him. We wrote a lot of songs together.

Will do, Stoner. This show is him playing with an orchestra, maybe 2/3 of it all the old Tull hits. One of the few groups I missed back in the good ol' days.

Busy day today - second grandchild was born, ordered a cabbin' machine, and went to the show tonight.
Helluva show, Stoner. He's still got it (not the voice, but everything else). This was the last show of the tour playing "orchestral Jethro Tull". Three hours with a 20 minute intermission. Twenty musicians on stage, including a chamber orchestra and a bluegrass fiddler. Sounds weird for Tull music but it sure works. Everything from Mozart to "Snot running down his nose." Some great arrangements by the keyboard player/orchestra leader and Anderson put a new twist on a lot of the old repertoire so there was nothing stock about playin' the oldies. Made it a lot more interesting.
Trivia I didn't know - He was born in the same small town in Scotland that I was, only four years earlier.
