Been here a week now and really enjoying the hot, dry. After the soggiest summer on record in South Central Alaska, this is wonderful! Still getting settled in, but will be looking up Shain in a day or so. It took Qwest over a week to get phone service in here, and so I had a lot of reading to do to catch up with this board and all the email.
Not much rocking in the winter. I am always looking down, but shooting is my hobby in the winter. I love the smell of gunpowder. So I have 10 and 20 gauge smoothbores that I reload for. And there is a nice range within about eight miles where I can go burn nitrocellulose to my heart's content.
I also do some ebay selling in the wintertime. This is garage and estate sale country down here, and I like to go around and see what I can get that I can sell on ebay. Yesterday I picked up a nice set of telephoto and wide angle lenses for a Ricoh camera for $5. Should bring 20 to 25 on ebay. During the summer, which is the shooters' off season, I picked up some stuff to flip on ebay this fall and winter, too.
I enjoy this group and its willingness to share knowledge so much that I will have the board up quite often. And, who knows, I might just spy a stone I just have to take back and cut and/or tumble. For sure I am going after some of those ebay emeralds for rumble stones.

Hey, that is defineitely quite a move! I have been giving some thought to moving to Alaska for the summers, but I'd only be moving from Michigan, so the shock wouldn't be as great. I'd still come back to Michigan for the winter though. I was thinking more like a more northern location. Snow year round would be nice! Ron ps. What can I say, I'm a cold weather person!

Hey neighbor, we are getting ready for winter up here in Flag. Nothing like AK winters I'm sure. The wife and I long to go to Alaska, we'd like to check out the Inside Passage first.
Enjoy your winter, this is the time we go houndin' down there too, so if you and Shain head out let me know, I'd love to tag along!
