Last Friday, the 20th, when I got off work, I packed the Harley, and hauled butt for Dallas. I wore my Carhart bibs and heavy coat. I started off not wearing my helmet, but soon stopped and put it on since it was about 40 degrees out and with a 80mph head wind.... I was fine, all except my damn feet. I choose not to put the leather lower covers on my chrome engine guards as it would hide some of the gleaming chrome. I wish I had put them on cause my feet froze. I should have wore some heavy boots instead of my Harley boots but, looks are everything... I made it to St. Louis and got a hotel room, and finished the ride on Saturday. Total driving time was 1150 miles, in 17 hours. I had good weather the whole time there. I went to Strokers and drank quite a few beers and met/ talked with Rick Fairless who has been on "biker build off". He has made allot of great looking custom bikes. Monday I rode down to Martin Bro. bikes, who also were on "biker build off" I met Joe Martin and he let me sit in and watch him custom paint a bike for awhile, like a dumby I left the camera where I was staying. I also rode to Granbury to see some friends from newtcity.com and they took me to dinosaur Valley park to see allot of dino footprints and then they cooked this huge beef brisket that I single handedly put a giant dent in. I left for home yesterday and had good weather till I hit Mo. then it drizzled all the way home and the last 7 hours home today was real cold, my feet froze again today but now to the point where they hurt and burn from being so cold.. I had a good week and put on just over 2650 miles total in 6 days.
Anyway here are the pictures, alot of them also..
Here at Strokers, he also has a biker bar and live band on the weekends. You park your bike right in front of the stage.
The head mechanic took me in and showed me around the shop, some of the customs they were working on,
A rat bike some guy rode in on to party,
Takila, looking good..lol
Blurry but you get the drift,
Even though the sign says don't touch, I touched and sat on these,
Me and Rick Fairless,
And the "road hog", the "road dog" rode in on..
Dino footprints,
This is where the prints are,
I looked real hard to find some dino poo to bring back and tumble, but no luck.
