Here's a follow up on my mess with BofA. My checking account is okay now, but my online bill pay never got fixed. I called early in the morning on Thursday and after being on hold for 35 minutes, I was told that they have upgraded their software and I need to change my user name to something with 8 letters/numbers. The guy said that should take care of the problem, and wanted me to come up with a new user name so he could check it right then. Well, I couldn't think of anything off the top of my head and said I'd do it home. After I hung up, I thought of a great user name: BofAsucks. So when I got home, I tried to change my user name to BofAsucks and guess what, I got a message saying, sorry, that name is already in use! I guess others have had problems too. So I went into my branch and talked to yet another person who called the online banking number and was on hold for 45 minutes before she got through to them and she was able to get things straightened out. Now that it's fixed, I'm going to close my account with them and join the credit union my wife belongs to. Screw BofA!
