My Willow kitty is bringing me stuffed animals. Some of them are bigger than she is! She will drop them then holler "meow, meow, meow......." until I come to see what it is. Then when I acknowledge it she waltzes around a bit, looks back at it and moves on. In just a bit she'll be back with another. My den floor is covered in stuffed animals - pink poodle, purple kangaroo, red dog, orange scarecrow, white cat, green iguana.....
I don't know what else to do but sing praises when she brings them. I went out to cut some rocks and when I got back she had laid one by my computer chair, the purple kangaroo is gone so she took it somewhere else lol.
Does she think they are her babies? Pretending she killed them? What do y'all think she is thinking?

Kim - My cats like to play fetch with lighter toys. Hoodlum liked me to throw a little puff-ball with spider legs. He would rund, pounce, and fetch it back. Then he woudl wait for me to throw it again. He seemed to like when I feinted in one direction then threw in another. Hagatha would bring me little fur-mice and wait for me to twirl it be the tail and throw it across the room. If you have on eof the toys that is small, maybe wave it around and toss it a few feet to see if she wants to play catch.
Otherwise, this is like when a cat brings a dead mouse or dead bird and lays it by your feet. It is a gift.

Maybe she thinks she's hunting and bringing you the prey. Don't let her outside, you might get some yukky presents!! Don't know for sure, just a guess. LOL Tonja

Letting a cat outside is o.k. but, CHECK to see what it's found BEFORE you let em back in. The wife's cat came zippin in one night straight to the bedroom, jumped up on the bed and deposited a very lively but wet cold mouse, right in the middle of her bare chest.
Wish I would have had the video camera ready for that one !!!!!!!!!!!.

LOL my friends cat did some thing very similar, except it was a mole. She was lying in bed and felt the cat jump on the bed, then she became aware of something tickling her neck - looked down to see a rather battered but still living mole on her chest -she said she jumped up so fast it flew accross the room and hit the wall !

Yep rocky, she's bringing you her kills. It's a profound compliment. And, yeah, thank god it's not a really mouse. Our cats bring them upstairs whenever they can so that everyone can share the new "toy".

i think she is trying to show you how to hunt. my cat always brought her fresh not-so quite-dead-kills up the stairs (usually at 3am) for us to play the "Let's Catch the Mouse Together" game. she'd come yowling up the stairs with that "i've-got-a-mouse-in-my-mouth" noise, and if i didn't get out of bed soon enough, she'd bring it into the bedroom.
she had me trained real well. i'd meet her at the top of the stairs, broom in hand, naked as a jay bird and most of the time without my glasses, so it was a real show. she'd drop that little sucker and we'd tag team it and chase it til i finally smooshed it. lordy, how she loved that game....
be thankful she brings you stuffed toys! she used to snag jewelry off my bedroom table and drag it down the hallway when one of my girlfriends came to visit....so who knows what those kitty-critters are thinking??

Kim, my cat does the same thing, only mine does it for several reasons.
#1 reason... to clean her teeth (no joke). She'll grab any of my kid's stuffed animals and put one next to her food bowl. She'll eat some food, and then bite into that stuffed animal, then eat some food, then bite the stuffed animal, etc... stuffed animals are substitutes for pipe cleaners (her favorite toy) , but they often get rusty and then get thrown out. When she can't find a pipe cleaner, then she'll go for the stuffed animals to use as floss.
#2 reason ... something to play with. she can beat the stuffing out of them without getting the stuffing getting beat out of her. She also brings me a stuffy to throw, so she can chase it and bring it back (like a dog playing fetch). at night she'll carry one around and meow / howl like she caught a mouse.
#3 reason ... furniture rearranging (no joke). She kind of plays "house" sometimes, and has to have the animals just so. If I remove one stuffed animal when she's not looking, she'll go look for it and put it back exactly where she put it before.
I also got my cat a pot of fake flowers for her to chew on. she doesn't chew on it to rip it apart, but to clean her teeth. She's very big on dental hygiene

My male orange tabby, Tigger, seems to be a good mouser. I remember walking down our hallway one morning and saw what I thought was a kitty "poop" on the carpet. I was a bit upset, wondering why the heck did he do that up here, especially when his litter box was in the basement. As I was about to pick it up, I realized it wasn't what I thought it was, it was a dead mouse! I was glad he was doing his job, but I had to ask him why did you have to bring it up here? He used to play "pickle" with the girls. It was funny to watch. He would sit in the middle of my girls on the floor, and they would toss a little fur ball toy back and forth and he would reach up or jump up and grab it out of the air and then drop it again so the girls could thow it for him. Cats are cool. Earthdog says Tigger is a perv. When you're standing in the basement, he (Tigger) will come sit on your foot.

oh bless her heart. she was getting in the kitchen window to watch the chipmunks and birds and fell in the mop water. i had to wash her feet and back legs off as there is ammonia in there. how undignifying for a cat! the other cats ran like the wind when she fell and now they are sitting around looking at her like she has the plague. is it coming off? it's the plague isn't it? you caused this! you pushed her didn't you? kim

Kim, there is something about the "appraising" stare cats use when sparing. I can;t put my finger on it exactly but it involves scrunching up the neck and cold eyes.
