It hovered around 12 degrees all day yesterday, making it much too cold to go into the garage and shine stones. So I watched the critters cope with the snow. My 4 bird feeders were very busy. It's the squirrels who came out of the woodwork to feast on the seeds! They eat way too much, but they are fun to watch! Weasels approaching Getting settled in Greedy feeders! Hey pal, can you spare a peanut?

i like my squirrels it's the black birds i don't like and they are just about immune to all my tactics to get them to move on. of course i don't have any hanging feeders anymore because of the squirrels.

KD Well sure, I have the only corn fed rodents in town. Those guys are my "Plan B" in case the food budget runs thin!! No Steph, I haven't actually gone out there. Those shots were taken from the heated safety of my bedroom window. Isn't that why we heat buildings, so we can stay in them when it's cold?

We have about 10 that come around and they are fun to watch. We buy corn and set it in special feeders just for them but they always manage to raid the bird's feed too. They are so frequent that my 3yr old has a few of the regulars named and knows them by sight. A couple are almost tame enough to feed by hand - almost!?!(not ready to loose a finger yet lol). Still cool pics and thanks for sharing them!

You have some happy looking squirrels there. They make good outdoor pets.
