I was watching PBS last night while re-wiring one of those lawn ornament rain deers and caught the last hour of a show called 'Spirit of the Rock'. The show was about a climber and his thoughts about nature and climbing and life. Most of the show was shot in Yosemite National Park, the scenery and the music score was incredible and inspiring. I don't know if the show will be re-broadcast or not but the climber has written a book with the same title and I imagine that once the PBS pledge drive is over that the DVD will be available as well.. www.amazon.com/Spirit-Rock-Ron-Kauk/dp/1586851500The author is simply spoken but very insightful and inspirational... Just thought some of you would enjoy it..... Dan oh ...and after that show.. PBS had an old John Denver concert... Sure do miss him...what a great artist! Take me home country road....

Thank you looks like a good book and I just love John Denver every time we go to Chicogo my kids sing Take me home country roads on our way back home maybe like 300 times and to tell you the truth I never get sick of it even when they replace words to Casper Wyoming Cina

Cina, I had forgotten how much that song meant to my dad until I heard it again last night.... When I was a kid my dad would pack up the Lincoln Town Car and drive us from Houston to Upstate NY (3 day drive) and when we finally reached the Adirondack mountains he would pop in the John Denver cassette tape and we would all sing along. 'Take Me Home Country Roads' was the song he would play when we hit the home stretch on the way to 'Camp'. When I heard it last evening a flood of memories hit me pretty hard.. I lost my dad to cancer last year. So, there I am sitting in the garage with a string of Christmas lights and a wire rain deer trying to sing along while choking back the tears. I'm sure dad was smiling down....

I to get tears when some songs play I remember my Mom singing in the kitchen when I was a kid and some time a song is just a angel in disguise I lost her when I was 16 now I have a step Mom that tells me "cry hun it cleans the hart" and to think I did not want to be in the same room with her when I was young because I thought she wanted to take my Moms place now I look to her for everything and am so glad she is a part of my life! Some songs just help clean our harts Cina
