It is one of those unbearable mornings after an ice storm, with the sky utterly clear and the sun in full force, and the innumerable nodules of ice that fill the 250 acres of deciduous forest around us still completely intact in the sun's warmth and yet made completely clear by it like water-clear quartz crystal.
You look in one direction and all the trees and shrubs and dry herbs and grasses are so many shapes of unbearably bright white light; you look in the other direction and they are so many shapes of unbearably radiant iridescence, a perpetual quiet explosion of innumerable pure colors in every hue.
If there's ever a time when I can say "I don't believe it" and mean it, this is it--and I say that every time!

Could have saved yourself some typing by posting a pic... Sorry guys, they want $185 to fix the little plastic battery compartment door on my Coolpix 800, which won't work without it, no matter what I try, and I keep spending the money on you know what.

Can't really blame you. If my wife hadn't bougt a camera, I never would have spent money on one.
