While the rest of the country seems to be getting all of our snow, here in N.W.Ohio we have been drowning from all the rain. In the last two months, since Thanksgiving, we have had only a handful of days that it has not rained. The Maumee River- across the road from where we live is swollen out of the banks and still rising. The normal depth during the summer months is about 7 - 10 feet, but now it is about 20-30 feet higher than that, and flowing through the farm fields. Lucky for us we don't have a basement as our back yard is flooded also from all the rain. We are high enough up that we won't get flooded out, but many roads and areas are closed until the water goes down. Here are some pics of the river across the road and one of the back yard. The rain is supposed to end by mid-week, so hopefully it will dry out a bit - it will still be a long time until I can get down to the sand bars to get any more good rocks.
