You could always move to Alaska where the winters are long, cold, and snowy. And you would experience the cross country skiers and dog mushers complaining about the snowmachiners.

The weather this year has been really funny. This is the coldest winter we've had down here in over eight years. I know you guys think this is funny, but we've had three straight weeks of temperatures below freezing at night. That's just not normal! I've finally decided that the world is just tilting a little more than it was before. Those of us in the Southwest are now a smidge farther "North" than before and those in the Northeast are now a smidge farther "South" than before. It's those people camped on the North Pole - they are offsetting the balance!

I'm so sorry but there's no way that you'd catch me doing a snow dance. But on the other hand, I'd much rather be shoveling on a nice winter day than mowing lawn in the stifling heat. I'm so confused. ;D

Hey Ron! Come to Colorado. We have snow out the wazoo and everywhere else. There's still 2 feet in the yard. The piles by the driveway will be here 'till July! We have a snowstorm every 2 weeks whether we need it or not. I haven't seen the ground since the week before Christmas. Come on out and have your fill!!

This is a very unusual year. We rarely get snow that stays on the ground for more than two days. I don't think you'd be really happy in the Front Range area. You might like the high country. I could see you living happily in Leadville. Of course, as you've said, you'd be alone! You can visit anytime and take back all the snow you want! But we rarely have it like this!!

here's a "funny" for you --- several years back I was in the southwest corner of colorado ( by telluride) and was talking to some of the locals --- I asked what the little red tags were at the tops of the pines --- was the forest servive going to cut them ? --- they looked kinda funny at me and said -- no , in the winter the rangers snowshoe walk the the top of the snow and tie those at ground level !! --- I swear some were 60-75 feet in the air -- that's why I couldn't figure out how they got them that high -- as I didn't see any way of climbing those trees ! --- that should be enough snow for you ;D

Head to the Wilds of WNY- We always have snow- and if we don't the Tug Hill Platue is only a 3 or 4 hour drive! Lets see we have a foot on the ground right now- and still snowing- by Thurdsay they are expecting another 6 inches- and then we have a Lake Effect warning for the weekend-

They say (the people who are supposed to know) that our polar icecaps are reversing and then I just read this am about the glaciers in the Alps are going to be gone by 2050 if not before.
On the brite side of things...maybe when the ice DOES melt, it will reveal new rocks for us to find!
