OK...the scan shows a lot of cycts and some fatty deposits on the liver. Their reading of this is...don't drink beer, don't eat fat...no fries....all the things I've been doing. Hmmmph...they didn't tell me anything I didn't already know...why bother.

Hey Pho, I used to deal with a machine vendor that found out that he couldn't drink beer anymore, and I always joked and told him that if I couldn't drink beer, I 'd just as soon die. Several years later, I'm not so sure that I would still say that. But I will say this, I may not live longer than most of the other people, but I sure can tell you that I'll damn well enjoy what time I have.
Ron
ps. Hey Pho, hope this didn't offend you. It's just my point of view. Measure the quality of life, not the length of life.

Sorry to hear that Pho. Isn't that the kind of advice they give you whatever you go in for?

I haven't had any alcohol in over 20 years....I don't uaualy eat fries...vare rarely.....I don't have that much fat intake...in fact we have been watching what we eat for several years now trying to lose some weight. Seems they are just like the auto mechanics....sell ya more tests....tell ya what you already know and then tell ya to come again... They tell me I need to come in for a CT scan right away because my enzyme levels are way high...I go in and they don't tell me anything. I tell ya..it is down right frustrating. Keep 'em guessing.....keep them coming back again and again but never tell them anything....make lots of bucks. Keep them fat, dumb, and stupid.
Sorry..had to vent just a little on that one.. Not offended at all Ron...one thing I do like is honest input.

Hey Pho, I hear ya. Most doctors and hospitals are more interested in the money than they are about your health. For years I refused to see any doctors because of that very feeling. I have a doctor now that spent 6 years in Africa with Doctors without Borders. I figure if he was willing to spend 6 years with virtually no income, then maybe we could possibly get along. Long story short, we get along great! This guy is the real deal. Unfortunately, he is the exception, rather than the rule. I was an engineer in my career, because I loved it. I would hope that they would be doct0rs for the same reason.
Ron
ps. Take care Pho, it sounds like you've been taking care of yourself. Have faith in yourself, and your God. It will serve you well!

Cysts and fatty tissue does not sound very ominous. Cysts sometimes are worth putting a knife to if they are on the surface, just so they wont get bigger. But they certainly are not anything like malignant growths. I'd say they gave you some information that should make you relax a little.
