awhile back emerald offered to make a website for some of us to sell our stuff on - she said she didn't think she could manage more than 5 people's items and asked who was interested - if i remember correctly the 1st 5 to holler were kd, sands, llana, cookie, and me but emerald disappeared and nothing ever happened. i had people start asking me to send my things to them (out of state) and they would sell them on commission but how in the world was i gonna keep up with that so i finally just jumped in and started a website and offered to those original 5 if they wanted to help out. so off we go except i haven't heard from llana yet. i am going into this stumbling blind with no prior web experience so with that in mind go look and tell me what you think. so far we are getting some lookers but sales are at zero. i've read and researched and think i've done all the right things to get picked up eventually on a search engine. the site won't hold but 250 items and i'd like to see how it goes but i don't want to close the door to some of you other interested ones if things go ok. so let me know what you think and if you are really interested in being next in line IF things go well please let me know. or if it gets overwhelming maybe someone else could take on the next 5 and so on. nothing ventured - nothing gained. www.deltarockgallery.com and yes that african rough listed under rough rock is soon on its way. i will post the pics i received today in the photo section. my husband is being so supportive during this mid-life crisis lol. kim

The site looks great!!
The only thing I think might work better is when you take the pics of the necklaces you might want a more neutral background so the detail can be seen easier.
Putting it on the rock is a good idea, but it seemed like the colors of the necklaces were harder to see.

Hey Kim, WTG! You've done a very nice job. Give it some time, I think it will take off okay. Very good product presented in a very professional manner, should be a winner!

That site looks great. I have been thinking about setting up my own website, how much did it cost you to set up that site, and what site did you go to to set yours up? Tami

thanks all! tigereye you are not the 1st to tell me that on the pics - i'm going to have to try some different things - tips are so welcome! tami sands sent me a link to this newsletter because he wanted me to read something he saw on making jewelry for teens www.home-jewelry-business-success-tips.com/index.htmlbut what i saw was that link on the right that says easy online store and that the 1st month was free but as you start clicking along some more things come up as always lol. there's a set-up fee of $14.95, then a domain registration fee for 1 or 2 yrs i think ($65 for 2 yrs), then you'll have a monthly fee after the free month of $21.95 if you go with the 250 program. then when you get into setting up your merchant account for your credit cards payments you get the bigger fees so for about $250 you can get started then you'll have monthly hosting and merchant account fees over $50 but the merchant account fees will depend on sales with them taking a percent and so much a transaction. hope that helps tami - let me know if i haven't answered something - banjo might know more - he and i were sending messages back and forth when it came to adding links - we both agreed it was WORK getting it all set up. kim
