I've been to that site before, it's pretty amazing to find out that info. Kind of gives you the creeps.

I used to be friends with a guy that now trolls for teenaged girls on MySpace. He seems like the sweetest, nicest guy you've ever met in your life....until he trusts you enough to brag to you about his latest conquests. Bad part is only a few people believe me because he seems that great and wonderful. Like he's too good to be true or a saint or something. The only people that believe me are other people he's bragged to about these little girls. He just turned 40 back in December and on his MySpace page he has a pic from his sophomore year at college. He claims to be "engaged" to a girl that tells him she is 23. Her pics look 16 tops. He has them plastered everywhere like a shrine and he's planning on meeting her as soon as he can. MySpace will do nothing except cover their butts and law enforcement say they can't do anything till he does the deed with her in person.
That has proven to me that you never know who is going to turn out to be a sick, twisted creep.

Most states have registered offenders listed on a website. The Missouri State Hwy Patrol has theirs and I know a ton of states do. Normally a state agency hosts the website. There is a big movement to try and protect their (offenders) rights and ban the sites, but so far no luck. The Michael Devlin case is really helping to put more information out there.
The sad thing is, there are a lot of offenders out there that have slipped through and aren't registering.
Here's the basics (Missouri), person commits horrid crime against kids or they're a rapist. They do their time in prison, then are parolled, or put on probation. They have to register whether they are on probation or not. Once the probation is over, there is much less supervision. They still have to register every 90 days with their local sheriff Department.
One day, no probation officers babysitting them, they up and leave. Who knows where, could be another state, could be another county. The local sheriff department will try to find out what they can. Depending on how well the prosecutor works in that area, issues a warrant. Most of the time, these people disappear and the few people that know where they moved, won't tell a thing. Sometimes, you get lucky and you get anonymous information on a failed to register person living in an area and the local law enforcement goes to check, sometimes numerous times before they find them, then they are located again, and the sad thing is, they are normally living with kids or around kids again.
I can explain this better, but just be aware how it all works and can happen. This is a very huge subject with me and I could get into much more detail, but this is for rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, that's just the weirdos that have been caught. It's best to just keep ones eyes and ears open and pay attention to the people around you. Don't count on a website to keep you safe.

Yep, it's pretty sick. In my eyes, they need to die a slow death. At our place, we can see the library which is only about 60 yards away. One day in the summer of 2005 a freak followed Takilas daughter home, almost got her. I went to the library right after I got home, they wouldn't tell me anything about the guy. Some woman heard me talking about the guy in the library and came out side to tell me the same guy followed her kids home a couple weeks earlier. I called the cops, and they went over there, found out who he was. He was on probation. He had been busted for something like assault with a weapon back in the mid 80's. Before they had to register. His po agent threw him in jail for about 6 months for following the daughter home. The guy was supoosed to stay away from kids and schools and libraries. Falling through the cracks? Some of you know what happened to my daughter 1 year ago. It's some sad crap..

I'm with you Jimmy except I'd want them to die a slow and PAINFUL death.
Chinook, this forum here is for anything but rocks and is a great place to vent so feel free.
A gal my son used to go with in high school was raped (repeatedly) by her father and her mother would not listen. Finally she found someone who did listen and he was sent to jail for a couple of years. She had younger sisters and knew what would happen to them so tried to get them out of the situation. Authorities left them with her mother and the father was allowed to go back into the family when he was released. She was given a restriction order against her father as he had threatened to kill her when he was sentenced to jail. He said this right in the courtroom in front of the judge and nothing was done about it. She moved away and broke off all ties with family and friends, hoping to find a place where he couldn't find her. I can't imagine living in fear of your own father like that or having to live with knowing what he might be doing to your sisters. How sad is that!

I just read this on a "convictions" page of one a sex offender.
"Offender has a history of sexual contact with adult females. Contact included penetration. Offender used a weapon to gain compliance. Offender was not previously known to victims."
I dont' get this ... isn't this rape? I wonder why they don't just say it, unless he wasn't charged with "rape" but plead down to a lesser charge or something.

SICK!!!! 2 in may area from this site- but I have found 4 others on different sites- NYS is pretty strict with these guys- (well short of a SLOW PAINFUL HORRIBLE DEATH nothing is too strict). But it still sickens me- Cher- Penetration is the plead down from rape- which is sad because they get a shortend term- then right back on the street to do it again-

Wax cools too fast, boiling grease works better, it keeps on burning down deep ...
