Can't beat a Pete. Have you seen that show on cable (the channel/name escapes me) on the Peterbilt factory. Impressive trucks. Maybe if I ever go owner/op I will buy one.

Yep Terry, you are right. It took a scare to make me quit. Heck, when I was a kid and everyone told me not to smoke and do drugs that just made me want to know what all of the fuss was about so I picked up smoking and tried dope!
You can't quit until YOU want to, that goes for smoking, dope, food, gambling, etc.

Yes I watched the show just the other day. Maybe after I have my first heart attack, I will quit smoking. My luck, my first will be my last and only heart attack..

For one thing, Earthdog, I rarely "bitch" at you about your smoking. Yes, I may make comments about how it stinks in our room (I just washed my robe last week and it already smells gross from the smoke) and yes, I may throw out a comment once in awhile about your smoking, but, baby, if you think I'm bitching now, watch out! Yes, when you're first going out, most people accept those things about the other person. But after you've been with them for awhile, and you fall in love with them and marry them, things kind of change how you feel. Do you think I want to watch the one I love suffer from emphysema? I realize until YOU are ready to quit, it won't happen, but just like the advice you were given over the weekend, you will NEVER truely feel like quitting. That's the evil of the addiction. Your daughter makes comments to you, too. I know you'll be on the rag if and when you do choose to quit someday, but the whole point of this thread was that there's help out there, both encouragement from friends and "DRUGS" to help you get through it. Whatever..................

How much does a carton of cigarettes cost? Figure out what percentage of a new rock tumbler or other piece of equipment that is. Or a bunch of the ideal rough. Just keep reminding yourself that everytime you say no you're that much closer to a new toy.
Keep hanging in there! It's worth it all the way around.
