One of my other interests is studying ancient mythologies, specifically creation myths: The Sioux have many creation stories, this is one of my favorites. I thought that some of you would enjoy it as well.... The Creator gathered all of Creation and said, "I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it. It is the realization that they create their own reality."
The eagle said, "Give it to me, I will take it to the moon."
The Creator said, "No. One day they will go there and find it."
The salmon said, "I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean."
"No. They will go there too."
The buffalo said, "I will bury it on the Great Plains."
The Creator said, "They will cut into the skin of the Earth and find it even there."
Grandmother Mole, who lives in the breast of Mother Earth, and who has no physical eyes but sees with spiritual eyes, said, "Put it inside of them."
And the Creator said, "It is done".Author: unknown Dan

My purse just works to keep me from finding things in it. If I put things I don't want my kids to see in there they find it everytime.
Nice story though

Wow that's a good one and it really reminds me alot of a revelation I once had while trippin' on silly shrooms camping with a few close friends many years ago.... I'll spare you most of the "Hippie crap" we got into back then and just tell it. We were stretched out enjoying the warm summer night and I was silently pondering existence while gazing at the milky way, prominently visible in the clear dark skies and highlighted even more by dialation of the pupils. At some point it became perfectly clear to me in some meaningfull way just how incredibly vast our galaxy is, seeing it streched out before me across a hundred light years of space and time. It was very surreal and peacefull and comforting. Something just kinda clicked and it was like, yeah here we are in this crazy universe stoned out of our minds on shrooms and everything is OK. I was having an interesting conversation with myself for awhile but then I said something aloud, " You know what we are? We are just the universe, trying to figure itself out, like you need a mirror to see your reflection. That's what this is, it's what had to be so we could sit here and stare at it like this. This whole F*in universe is a set up!" At this point I just broke out into hysterical laughter at the thought, which instantly became contaigious. I always found it odd that the universe would go through all the trouble of actually existing unless there was some sort of reason for it. I mean, if it's all just going to end up the same way in the end then what's the point right? Well, it made sense at the time at least... So, I guess the moral is: Just shut up and enjoy the universe and don't complain cuz you've only got yourself to blame for it! ;D

LOL... ;D Rob that's a pretty common experience from what I've read. It's definitely not the first epiphany realized while trippin' on shrooms. Some think that psychedelic mushrooms have had a profound influence on religion, philosophy and human intelligence over the eons. It's believed that even early Christians used a combination of 4 types of mushrooms along with MJ to achieve state of ethereal consciousness. I've read descriptions that say it's like experiencing the mind of the universe as a single entity.... ...far out man

DUDE!!! Trippin on Shrooms- All I did was toss pebbles into a stream that ran under this HUGE culvert- Must have tossed 1000 pebbles into the water- everyone of them made a different sound!!! ANyway- Cool creation myth- I was real into the creation stories for a while- amazing stories the Native Americans (or Indians if you don't want the PC BS) told to explain what it was all about- Pretty smart life lessons- that even apply to us today!

I'll see if I can dig up my copy of How Loon Lost her Voice. It is a very cool story, much like this one.
